  1. Lots of precipitation still to come so we still have a lot of time.
  2. Still rain here, although I don't think it'll be too long until things become a little more wintry.
  3. I'd rather have wind and rain than cloudy dry nothingness. I wish the wind and rain would come at night though, it creates a great atmosphere.
  4. In December 2010 we had around 50cm of snow here. It was insane.
  5. I've not seen the sun in three days. Cloudy, dry weather is just so monotonously dull.
  6. One positive from this summer is that it seems like there's been something for almost everyone. I'd have loved to have had a warm August but it looks like the beginning of September is going to give some pleasant conditions. I'd like another thunderstorm or two before we get deep into autumn but I've already been pretty spoiled in that area.
  7. I've become used to a warm start to autumn. I'm happy with a warm September and a warm spell in October but hopefully there's a lot of variety in this season.
  8. I'm bored of summer now. I'm ready for the darkness to take over, the leaves are already turning and last night under clear skies there was a very notable chill in the air. Bring on the winds, the rain, the changing landscape, the frost, and dare I say it, the snow. I'm ready.
  9. I'm having to wear a hoodie in the morning but we haven't turned the heating on yet. I'm going to try and hold on until October but I feel cold very easily so it might just be a matter of time.
  10. We definitely have temperatures more akin to the middle of September than August here, so saying it feels like autumn isn't too inaccurate in my opinion. Then again, everyone has their own opinion on which temperatures are warm, it just feels cool to me.
  11. It feels pretty damn cool here today with the wind and fresher air!
  12. Thunder here, for some reason we're the storm capital of the country at the minute.
  13. The rain's just started here and it looks like it might last for quite a while. After the deluge on Friday, I think weather warnings for rain here are definitely justified.
  14. Quite close to Staveley, this is some of the heaviest rain I've ever seen.
  15. CG lightning around 50 metres away, I've never heard anything so loud!
  16. We've been spoiled here in 2014 after a few lackluster years!
  17. If you look on the Met Office website you'll see that we have warnings for rain here in the East Midlands too.
  18. I'm around four miles to the east of Chesterfield and the rain is getting heavier now, although we're not yet under the heaviest part of the precipitation. Business is picking up right now though.
  19. I start to feel a little uncomfortable above 30°C, but that's only if I'm walking for long distances. I'll generally need a hoodie once the temperature drops below 20°C, and I have to have a coat at 10°C, or a few degrees above that.
  20. A lot of the time on this forum I see a lot of disrespect for other's opinions. Having different opinions is great and it's interesting to discuss them, but I don't understand why those discussions have to be so disrespectful. Anyway, I'm a little sad this spell is coming to an end, but at the same time I enjoy variety in weather so I wouldn't mind an unsettled spell.
