  1. Kids have broken up for Easter here so no school run is one saving grace. Sounds like Wiltshire are breaking up at the very last minute then.
  2. More storms heading up into Dorset. More rain for pretty much everyone. Railway lines will be under water again. Yay!!!!
  3. Some amazing cloud to ground fork lightning over Shepton Mallet. Not frequent, but very sharp when it does happen. Not much rain/hail though.
  4. We’ve had sleet/wet hill snow in SW England today. Not warm here at all. Much the same expected through the rest of the week too. I think I’ve finally come to the conclusion that our seasons are messed up! Not expecting anything, sustained, warm & sunny for the foreseeable future.
  5. Plenty of showers/convective activity around the region this afternoon; Odd sferics thrown in for good measure. Hail & sleet possible too. Suppose it’s something different to frontal drizzle and overcast skies.
  6. This is turning out to be one of the worst starts to Spring, IMBY, for quite some time. Consistently dull, consistently cloudy, often wet and not all that warm lately either. I can count on one hand the number of sunny, dry days I’ve had IMBY, & even those were partly sunny, partly cloudy. So much for a 20c March here!!!
  7. I don’t use Apps at all, regardless of provider (whether it’s the MetO, BBC etc). Apps are computer generated and generally unreliable for any sort of detail other than a very broad brush view of things. Meto TV forecast along with radar projections & of course, Netweather’s forecasts are generally what I use to forecast the next 24/48 hours or so. I then interpret modelling myself for a few days after that. Beyond about 5 days I don’t even bother with aside for a bit of fun as I don’t find anything particularly reliable beyond then (for micro detail).
  8. I’m in Acton at the moment for work and I can confirm it’s raining here so it’s right for this part of London.
  9. I can’t remember the last time I used an ATM or cash. Even local, self employed tradespeople local to me take card and/or bank transfer now. Generally speaking, I don’t even carry a wallet with me anymore. I have my few bits of ID locked away in a hidden compartment in my car, otherwise I just use ApplePay. If anything goes wrong or suspect, I can lock my card/account within seconds in just a few clicks.
  10. I know it’s not Warminster but not a million miles away. Over the Mendips it’s quite often been foggy in mid afternoon over the last few weeks. Driving along Old Frome Road as been a typical hotspot for lingering fog, at times surprisingly dense too. Cranmore another hotspot.
  11. Better book your yearly trip to the Canary Islands then Si!
  12. A perfectly aligned, unwanted streamer filtering up the Bristol Channel to ensure my location remains wet throughout the afternoon whilst others get the chance to dry out somewhat;
  13. The last few days, whilst predominantly dry (nuisance rain aside), have like usual, been cloud dominated and dull. I have no evidence or stats to back this up, but the last 12 months or so have felt like Groundhog Day here, with cloudy condition dominating despite alternating weather patterns.
  14. Warmed up now. About to tip 9c but the sun makes it feel much warmer than that. You can definitely tell we are in Spring now with a strengthening sun, just a shame we rarely see it!
