  1. Just had a strike & rumble over in the Heathrow direction.
  2. On my way into London to pick up my job. Left Bath & it was glorious, sunny & warm enough out the breeze. Same at Chippenham, same at Swindon. Didcot was even better, almost clear blue skies & a warm sun shining. Get to Reading and it’s now cloudy & raining. Looking east towards London and there are dark clouds and further rain visible. Makes a change for the SW to be better than the SE. Take me home please!!!
  3. Much clearer skies here, as is often the case with winds from a northerly quadrant. A bit of fair weather cloud floating about but plenty of clear sunshine. None of this hazy crap of recent days. Only niggle is the breeze is a bit nippy, taking the edge of the suns warmth. However, get out the breeze, into some shelter & it’s fine.
  4. Amazing the vast differences in both temperature and skies across what is a small country really. No wonder there is a mixture of both moans & delight in this thread. What one person has could be the opposite to what another has. Overcast here now & a little fresher too;
  5. After a bright, sunny start it’s turned much more cloudier here again now; still warm, very respectable for April mind, obviously far from terrible but would be so much nicer to see a more dominant, sunny regime. On another note, fly season is well underway again!! Damn meat flies.
  6. Returned to the default here now, a lot more cloudier & not just high level cloud either, more properly overcast; still warm & bright mind you, so not terrible, far from it. Just a shame the elusive golden orb can’t be more dominant.
  7. Sunnier here today, @Alderc 2.0, albeit still hazy but not quite as hazy as yesterday. Very warm for April though, temperature has been perfect for a while now.
  8. A hazy, predominantly cloudy day IMBY today. Warm, very comfortable & respectable temperature, no complaints there, just would like the cloud that just HAS to be present in some form or another, daily, to just do one for a while. Would have been an absolute cracker if we had the blue skies to match the warm airmass IMBY. Admittedly, much better still than recent weeks though, which isn’t really setting the bar very high.
  9. Well, the good start to the day didn’t last too long. As always feared, we now have a thick layer of high level cloud pretty widespread, diminishing and sunshine to very very hazy levels.
  10. Better start to the day here. Plenty more sunshine than yesterday with just some high level cloud spoiling the party. Much better though. Will let the day unfold as I don’t want to speak too soon.
  11. Still overcast along the Kennett Canal, albeit bright overcast if that makes any difference. Some hazy, clearer patches here & there. Feels muggy though.
  12. The irony is, any cooler spell of weather from a northerly influence would actually bring clearer skies & sunnier conditions IMBY, with any cooler 850hpa airmass mitigated greatly by a strengthening sun. There are probably many southerners who would happily exchange a more northerly airmass and potentially clearer airmass for what we currently have now, muggy & overcast conditions. I appreciate you northern folk may think differently though.
  13. Currently in Southall, West London and; yep, exactly the same as how I left Somerset a few hours ago. Cloud follows me everywhere. Not a fan of SW’rly winds personally, regardless of whether they’re HP or LP oriented.
  14. Brightening up somewhat now. Drizzle has gone and we have white clouds more than grey clouds. Still generally overcast though.
