  1. Quite windy very little rain. And a nice chicken casserole with dumplings that I have made for dinner.
  2. Hi all , started nice and sunny and not to much in the way of extreme windy conditions. We have been luckier then those further south with regards to the amount of rainfall and gales. usual flooding of rivers but nothing of extreme or to write home about so can be thankful for that. Has gone very grey now and wind has picked up quite a bit but should once again avoid the worse.
  3. Sorry didn't vote. When a party finally listens to the people then I may change my mind. Hope weather is not to bad for everyone and my thoughts go out to those who are experiencing major flooding.
  4. Unfortunately , cut backs are happening everywhere no over time and from 5 day a week down to 4 this is in public and private sector. People work hard for what they earn and most will do whatever hours they can get to balance their pay packet but it doesn't help when the government has cut funding in those sectors and companies have to find ways of cutting back on spending. Which is always by reduced hours and or redundancies. You only have to look at the state of our roads and the over hanging trees that block the road signs to see the cuts that have been made to the public transport sector.
  5. . Hi, Jp will be able to advice you better, but I believe it's because of the deep cold coming off the Atlantic that this May happen , but doubt if it will reach far reaches of se.
  6. . Hi they were doing outside work updating the pipes to everyone's has meters. Unfortunately mine is indoors and in order to push the new plastic piping on they needed to turn my supply off. When they reconnected it they had to check all appliances running on gas to make sure all was working well that's how the problem arose. My problem is my cooker is all gas.
  7. Evening all. Not looking to good for areas already flooded. Like most would like to see some snow but even a lengthy dry spell would raise spirits then the continued cycle of wet weather. Today I enjoyed the power company putting in new pipework in our street only to be told they would need to put a 2ft -2ft hole In my drive .To top it off my gas was shut off for the majority of the day, and when reconnected was given the good news that there's a leak between my gas meter to my cooker. As a safety issue it has been disconnected and I need to get someone in to replace the piping from the meter to my cooker. : (
