  1. Last night the temperature dropped below -10C at Braemar with a value lower than February's minimum temperature. Minus double digits have been present in December, January, February, March and now April. Any ideas on the last time -10C was recorded in April?

      Thats pretty impressive!

  2. quite possibly the best snowfall here since Nov/Dec 2010. It's a shame that the thaw is now on.

If that was the best snowfall for the Glasgow area since then, then winters here are even worse than I thought. I'm sure every winter month since then has had one or more falls as good or better than that, back in Derbyshire.

  3. grim news from Glencoe where there has been an avalanche with reports of fatalities :(

Dec 2010 was extremely cold but very little snow with most bands of precip going everywhere around us. We prob got 5cm at best.

Last Feb however was a good Nottingham sized 'dumping' with maybe 10-15cm or so.

This is not a snowy area as the Trent Valley is slightly warmer than the surrounding areas.

Nearly a foot here in Leeds, but after the snow thawed around the 9th it didn't return and we stayed dry and sunny throughout. We had freezing fog though, which resulted in a white landscape for days on end, with frozen lakes and fountains. So it was white on Christmas, even if it wasn't snow! ;-)

  7. 1389 users online for the pub run - that's as high as I've seen it this season.

Man U and Chelsea both losing. A pity that Celtic couldn't keep the lead to half time but the goals was coming, at least Celtic have put in a good shift and enjoyed a miracle scoreline.

  18. Unbelievable that Scotland beat Australia at Rugby! Why can't we do it in the 6 Nations?

The reason you don't do it in the six nations is we all play our first teams.

I didn't realise Australia played in the Six Nations lol Still a great result though :)

  19. So far, sadly I think the Queen's Jubilee has been a bit of a disaster. The Derby was the highlight, the news coverage and presentation of the other events has been diabolical and the pageant was a real disapointment. I feel very sorry for the Queen who had to stand there freezing watching the rain pour on the grey Thames, the boats and spectators. As a result, the Duke is in hospital and missing the likes of Jessie J, JLS and Robbie Williams - who wants Beatles, Clapton, Bowie or Queen w...

Yes BBC was awful and Sky was better. It was great to have all the boats on the Thames and all the people turning out to see it. But it wasn't as good as the concert.
