The GFS into mid Jan is a thing off beauty, Greenland Blocking that we haven't seen for some years..
As Kasim says this chopping and changing in the Models will continue for some time yet. It's as interesting as it gets...

Moderate sometimes heavy rain continues here. Most rivers locally have once again busts there banks and are all on flood alert, could be an interesting evening as the flood waters rise.., no wind to speak of as yet although I'm only just in the yellow warning area.

I think some folk need to take a breather, sit back, and relax...
Lots to be resolved by the Models over the coming weeks.

Just now, Penguin16 said:I’ll be tore to shreds for this but I just don’t get the level of enthusiasm for the output. Fantasy island charts that may lead to something better. In the minority opinion no doubt with that. Time will tell.
Maybe it's the fact we are going through a pattern change to colder more seasonal weather after such a mild and wet start to winter. And makes for interesting Model viewing and discussion

The HP might feel cool to begin with but will fill to warm to nearly double digits over the course of its stay as you'd expect.
Looking forward to the sunshine!
It really doesn't work like that as per post above from All Si.. But all this is way way into fantasy land.

6 minutes ago, MJB said:Not really, it's as per the latest 7-10 dayer from the Exeter crew, who quite rightly suggest temps will drop gradually which they would under a HP in Winter.
Mild it wouldn't be
Absolutely, conditions under a High during Winter will drop temps day on day.. But all questionable at this point as to what the actual outcome will be.
Great Model viewing over the next week or so at least, best get used to lots of 'flip flopping'
