  1. After some early rain a fairly decent day. More wind at lunchtime, never good for cycling, winds force 4-6 S. 12c and plenty of sunshine with well broken cloud.
  2. Gray-Wolf A decent day at the coast as well. Lunchtime brought 10c, with sunshine and a force 2-4 E wind. Some very high cloud, but the main thing is NO RAIN, after yesterdays grey damp drizzle. The farmers on the Wolds seem to be getting back on to the land again, several tractors out doing field work, although I suspect the lower lying areas are still waterlogged.
  3. The problem here isn't just rain, it's also wind as we are very exposed, you end up having to pick it all up and wash it again unless you physically stitch it to the line, and that assumes you can even find it once its blown off.
  4. Another poor day today. Light rain at lunchtime turned heavier whilst out, did 8 miles and got wet. 10c with a force 4-6 SW wind and 100% cloud Looks a little brighter now. Mark Bayley Just think, mud mud and more mud...
  5. Two nice days, and then today... Woke up to rain, which had stopped by lunchtime, to be replaced by low cloud/fog. Bike ride brought NW winds force 2-3 which was aborted due to the rain starting again just after the 4 mile mark, headed back home, 10c and low cloud. Still foggy outside and of course everywhere is sodden again.
  6. A much better day today. Lunchtime brought force 3-4 SSW winds, 13C and long sunny spells. First day of the year cycling without a top coat.
  7. Yet another wet spell, moderate to heavy rain at the coast this morning after a better few days. Problem is all the problem wet spots are filling again.
  8. Wold Topper The Wolds will dry out fairly quickly, but our last trip towards Hull on the train last Saturday there is still a huge amount of standing water on the flat lands between Driffield and Beverley, and I suspect their situation is worse still.
  9. A slight improvement today. Got rid of the nagging damp easterly, but overall much windier today and still rain about Lunchtime brought force 5-7 SW winds with 13c and some brightness for the first half turning to very light rain in the last 10 minutes of my hour out. Looking at the MetO charts low pressure is never far away so more rain on the cards.
  10. Aother thoroughly miserable day here after some early brightness. Lunchtime ride brought 7C, mist/fog, winds force 3-4 SE and drizzle with 100% cloud. Felt colder than the 7C would indicate This was the view just before Midday about 2 miles from home
  11. Today has been another cold grey day with occasional drizzle. At least the winds have been light. Lunchtime ride brought 6C, winds force 2-3 N, and 100% cloud, a featureless grey sky, with intermittent fine drizzle.
  12. Love Snow Its gone downhill even further this morning, on the coast woke up to moderate to heavy rain with a lazy (blows through you instead of going round you) easterly wind. We really don't need anymore rain at the moment
  13. Another grey day at east coast. Winds have picked up a notch, and are still firmly E Lunchtime brought Force 4-5 E with 7c and 100% grey featureless cloud, at least theres been no rain.
  14. The last few days have been fairly quiet weather-wise, a little rain and drizzle, but not enough to cause a problem. The winds have been calmer, and are firmly in the east today. Bearing in mind wind is the cyclists enemy its been much more pleasant. The worst field puddles are disappearing, but the ground is still very wet. Today brought 6c with force 3-4 E winds. All over grey cloud today, with some very fine drizzle, and quite misty. Grindale Mere at lunchtime
