Murky day today, but had a cracking sunset this afternoon which makes up for the fact my whole house is now in isolation until the 26th.

Looking forward to the clock change now, the mornings have gone from "ideal light" to "depressingly dark" very quickly.
Its horrible, I do like the darker evenings but the mornings can be hard for the body to get going. thankfully my job at least gets me out and about during the day so I at least get to see some daylight.
I pity folk during these months that are stuck in doors and travel to and from work in the dark, not really seeing daylight at all.

Every year, around this time, I look at the snow coverage charts here, and dream of a cold snowy winter to come, with angel-dust in the air, Ipswich challenging at the top end of the table and wondering whether it will be Barbara Dickson or Elaine Paige on the Two Ronnies' Christmas Special.
Today I spotted some snow in Russia, Alaska and Canada....here we go!

Love this thread.....not sure about Ipswich though......

I hope we have a hot spell in September. We usually get one on the back of a poor summer.
Me too its when I like to get the garden cut back for winter and paint my sheds.

I still think we will have some nice enjoyable weather, September is usually a settled month. The lack of daylight in the evening isn’t a big concern to me.

Noticing it now TBH, there's a difference to the light around 9pm and I've noticed a couple of lights on in my neighbour houses now.

Its not as bright the last few mornings at 0530, because of the heavy rain at times it seems like its getting darker earlier in the evening. I cant believe that I started this post 7 years ago and its still going!

Just had a heavy snow shower, seems the temp has dropped a fair bit.

Really noticing the nights drawing in now, the cloud cover at the moment means its darker earlier than should be.

Took the boy to school this morning nice dusting here at 0630, I'm a Firefighter up at Lochgelly, and as you may know the highest town in Fife. I'm night shift tonight so I put money on it being busy. It amazes me how bad some folk drive in this weather.
