  1. Its not as bright the last few mornings at 0530, because of the heavy rain at times it seems like its getting darker earlier in the evening. I cant believe that I started this post 7 years ago and its still going!
  2. Just had a heavy snow shower, seems the temp has dropped a fair bit.
  3. Really noticing the nights drawing in now, the cloud cover at the moment means its darker earlier than should be.
  4. Took a while to get home from Lochgelly, got stuck passing a car, got out fine in the monster truck now home.
  5. Lochgelly..... drifting snow. We are now stuck at the station, dayshift struggling to get in.
  6. Took the boy to school this morning nice dusting here at 0630, I'm a Firefighter up at Lochgelly, and as you may know the highest town in Fife. I'm night shift tonight so I put money on it being busy. It amazes me how bad some folk drive in this weather.
  7. First group of Geese flew over my house today, winter is slowly clawing its way in. I've noticed the grass slowing down, and up here the trees are starting to change.
  8. I agree NUT, getting up just before 6 am for work, I'm noticing the sun is just rising. I am needing to use my lights on my bike now but only in the morning.
  9. Really noticing the evenings getting darker around 9ish now.
  10. Set of Cooper weather masters sa2 winter tyres on my wife's Honda Jazz. Had to pay £200 for the set and £40 to change them over each winter and spring, but this is my third winter out of them. Fantastic grip in all conditions, I laugh at the folk in there 4x4 with summer tyres getting stuck on small icy hills whilst I skip past them. Great investment, I do live in Scotland though, so winters up here are colder.
  11. Regardless of random tests being carried out, IMHO I regard that as a mute point. If your caught behind the wheel of a vehicle with excess alcohol in your system you deserve to be held to account. I am a firefighter, I do see the after effects of drink driving all to frequently (more so this time of year). If you know your going to be having a drink leave the car keys at home. It's usually the innocent victim that comes of worse in my experience, the drunk driver usually walks away. A lower limit isn't there to catch more people out per say but to make people think "is it worth it".
  12. Clear,Cold Frosty start, 3.4c, had to scrape the car.
  13. Really noticed it last night, dull out side, we had the lights on at the back of seven.........and the shocker for me was the huge house spiders running across the carpet.
  14. Don't know how accurate my Pug 206 is, but the temp readout was 27c yesterday. My t-shirt tan is looking great now.
  15. I'm noticing a slight change now, was in the garden until 2200 last night and its getting dull around that time now. On saying that this far North its still twilight all night, I'm camping at Faskally near Pitlochry next week so I'm hoping for some late nights by the camp fire.
  16. What is men't by an" Indian summer", in the scientific sense. Thanks.
  17. Aye it's on, I've folded, getting up these last few mornings I've really felt the chill. I either get up at 0530 for my swim at 0600 or up at 0600 to cycle to work. I usually get out of bed and get my Lycra on in the dining room so I don't wake the wife, it's bloody cold walking through the house in the old y fronts. So heating is now on for an hour in the morning and an hour at night to take the chill off.
  18. I'm tempted, 14.2 degrees in the house this morning, not that cold granted, but you feel it getting out of a warm bed. Maybe half an hour before I get up....
  19. Cool night last night, managed to stop the wife putting on the heating. Nice dry day, light winds.
  20. No, keeping it off as long as possible. Jumpers all round in mine at the moment.
  21. I've had the lights out on the push bikethis week, for the commute, also wearing my hi viz stuff. At 0530 it's still dark.
  22. Starting to notice some trees with a hint of autumn on them.
