  1. Im saying 4th August, top temps in home counties with max of 40.1 ºc
  2. Lucky, i had a 60mph+ hit me 10 mins ago.. eek, The house shook
  3. Same, here for a wee while, but back again roaring away.
  4. Hi, yes, im up in the hills near Dalmacallan, and not had 90mm odd at all. In fact many people have noted how dry it is up here. Aside the flood at the beginning of 2023, very few heavy rain spells at all. Must be a microclimate, but my water supply depends on rainfall. Very nice day here too, lots of clegs around though, blasted pests.
  5. can you send it this way to Moniave, weve had about 30mm so far this month! Thanks :)
  6. It's the same here in Moniaive, can never seem to get a storm hit bang on, always slides over to the North over Sanquhar/ West to Dalry/New Galloway or East to Thornhill. For being at altitude and expose to Westerlies, no significant rain really aside from 1 inch in the last 2 weeks. The ground is hard and the spring has run dry so no water at the ranch to wash/cook etc.
  7. Up here in Dumfries and Galloway, rivers are super low, and the Burn which feeds my water supply has dried up. Ive only a little water left and hoping the borehole stays working. I would be glad of some rain up here. At least to help rivers birds and wildlife, so the changes on the 06 GFS etc I'm happy with. I'd love a good thunderstorm, as living at Altitude where I am, storms can be lively!
  8. i think personally it is climate change. The north atlantic current has slowed, meaning i feel there is less effect of the gulf stream on our shores. In short in my view this causes more blocked patterns. Leading to wet/cold/hot/dry periods, without the strength of the atlantic in years past. Im down in Norwich at the moment, everything is dust. Hard baked clay soil, ive never seen it so dry, aside 1976 when i was born, which i wouldnt remember lol. Id welcome rain, but lets enjoy the sun a little. Mother nature will pay us back at some point.
  9. Greeting all from Southern Scotland, Dumfries hit 30 today, but only 24 where i am. Amazed how dry the air is though which makes a change from the usual sultry heat. Stay well and safe all
  10. Blowing a gale over here in Dumfries and Galloway where I am, occasional grawple showers too. Some flooding in Dumfries too as the River Nith has burst its banks. Hope all folk stay well and safe tonight.
  11. 122mph, wow, insane speeds. Nothing much up here in Southern Scotland so far. Hope all down south stay safe. Those people on a canal boat are mad!
  12. Blowing hard in s norfolk. Had a power cut at 11pm. Lights on again, for how long who knows. Stay safe all.
  13. Fairly blowy in South Norfolk currently circa 40mph gusts. Nowt too bad all day bit of this and that. Hope you all are safe and relatively undamaged.
  14. In Gt Moulton Norfolk, had a gust circa 60-65mph at 0820 (prob the sting jet squall line) and heavy winds for 20 mins. Amazingly the electric stayed on. All is a bit calmer now just a fresh breeze from SSW. Hope all are safe and well and my condolences to those without power or those who have sadly, lost their lives.
  15. We had about 15mm approx in West Norwich today, needed it, since my back garden is like a dust bowl. However i was disappointed then we had no storms with the rain.
