  1. Last remaining pair of snow patches in southern Scotland?

Northern slopes of Dollar Law this afternoon in the distance through the warmth and haze.

Ended up with 19.4°C in the garden - and happy with that in the end looking at other local amateur sites and having checked the sensor positioning. So a wait now until once again we approach 20°C, mind you that was 30 May last year!

  2. Just back from a few days in Ayr. Grey and damp or grey and wet. The locals know how to have a good time though

Snow at home falling onto wet ground this morning (and now again this evening), so popped up into the hills at Tala/Gameshope on the Borders Forest Trust land this afternoon for a wee doggy walk and wander.

Very busy day yesterday  in the afternoon with a snap cattle inspection of paperwork and ear tags.Weather more or less fitted in with a dry morning but breezy. The early afternoon very wet and breezy while in shed inspecting passports and records while it dried up in mid  afternoon to run all cattle through race for ear tag inspection. Maximum of 9c

To add to the interest in the morning some of the wintering sheep thought they would impersonate Houdini by climbing a dyke and going walkabout.

The highlight of the afternoon during the wet spell  at 2.30pm was watching a badger scurrying into garage under the car. They are everywhere just now even tunnelling into small bales of hay in the dutch barn.

    Currently breezy 7c and bright

I remember in the vaccination queue at Peebles Leisure Centre in the autumn two farming guys chatting - "there are more badgers in the fields than sheep", was the enduring quote.  Wet breesy overnight/morning Sun out now 10.4C. Shan't be needing a hat for the dog adventure in a sec.

  4. Aw - look at the doggy!

Before midnight we had our 28th air frost at -0.2C but the wind picked-up and lifted the temp and at dawn we were in +3C territory. Nature feels like it is waiting to burst into life - let's hope it's not like last year where it took until May before any growth.
