  1. Second evening sat outside until 8pm this year, and on consecutive Sundays. Marv. Was hoping for first 20°C+ day. Would you credit it, garden sensor got to... 19.9°C. Dammit
  2. Yes. Interesting to hear Darren Bett this evening talk about how they hadn't "got the detail right" today. Good fella. However, it feels to me like a wee bit more than "detail".
  3. I've been watching the "southern plume" forecasts develop all week and must say BBC TV forecasts haven't been covering themselves in glory. Here's today's 12.30pm forecast for 1pm and the radar.
  4. Favourite photos from last two days. As others say, much sunnier on Saturday... Grey in Eddleston today. http://www.mapascotland.org
  5. Might be the last, so recording it here with my 40th air frost at -0.2C last night. Genuinely surprised we've made it to 40. Glorious morning - and even at 7.30am when it was 0.5C it felt fine in the sunshine in a t-shirt!
  6. Last remaining pair of snow patches in southern Scotland? Northern slopes of Dollar Law this afternoon in the distance through the warmth and haze. Ended up with 19.4°C in the garden - and happy with that in the end looking at other local amateur sites and having checked the sensor positioning. So a wait now until once again we approach 20°C, mind you that was 30 May last year!
  7. Garden says 18.5°C but bit suspiciously high compared to weather stations elsewhere. Will have to check positioning hasn't shifted... But nevertheless, what a scorcher!
  8. Just back from a few days in Ayr. Grey and damp or grey and wet. The locals know how to have a good time though Snow at home falling onto wet ground this morning (and now again this evening), so popped up into the hills at Tala/Gameshope on the Borders Forest Trust land this afternoon for a wee doggy walk and wander. That snow line is at 600m.
  9. Snow hanging-on on the tops - 728m Pykestone Hill. Tweed below. 7.2°C in the garden down in the valley. A lovely day.
  10. Ha! @101_North Meanwhile this morning was my 35th air frost at -2.5C and another snow day at 10am BST.
  11. That line of ppn came my way, left a fluffy layer of snaw and the temp dropped to -0.6°C. Marv.
  12. Snowy snow here since getting up at 07.20, has been intermittently lying/not lying so a covering at times, depending on ppn. Snowline right at my height asl. Wonder if there will be a covering at 10am (9am GMT) to declare a snow day... Currently 0.5C.
  13. Repeat performance today @Puffy MacCloud - good luck over the coming days.
  14. March 18th 2018: Meanwhile here in 2022, this morning was my 32nd air frost at -0.3C. And now it's a beautiful day wall-to-wall sunshine and currently 11.7C.
  15. I remember in the vaccination queue at Peebles Leisure Centre in the autumn two farming guys chatting - "there are more badgers in the fields than sheep", was the enduring quote. Wet breesy overnight/morning Sun out now 10.4C. Shan't be needing a hat for the dog adventure in a sec.
  16. Just for the record on here, Monday morning at -2.6C was my 31st air frost. That's as exciting as it gets.
  17. Aw - look at the doggy! Before midnight we had our 28th air frost at -0.2C but the wind picked-up and lifted the temp and at dawn we were in +3C territory. Nature feels like it is waiting to burst into life - let's hope it's not like last year where it took until May before any growth.
  18. Similar here with 10.1°C in the garden. Beautiful walk high up the Glen by Stobo Castle you can spot Finn amongst the shadows:
  19. Looked out and snow falling and white-over. 0.8C. Widespread flooding across Tweeddale today after this morning's heavy rain, milder temperatures and hill snow melt. Roads closed so a diversion to Peebles. Rinse and repeat is going to be the story of this week it seems.
  20. Yeah we were snowed in for three days as they shut the A road. Folk at the office in Edinburgh thought we were taking the mickey as there were just sunny skies in the city. And it was before homeworking! Happy days. Snow line at 250m - beautifully illustrated:
  21. Despite it being 0.4C it's barely lying in wet ice patches on grass only... The baws ain't playing here today either at this asl.
