  1. Down to 3.5C this morning and chatter in the dog walkers' car park of ice on windscreens at 5am... Certainly a very heavy dew for me. t's July for heaven's sake! Sunshine though!
  2. Took a walk up the River Annan north out of Moffat yesterday afternoon. Was very pleasant in the sunshine on the outward leg. And then the heavens opened on the return as the start of yesterday's band of ppn moved northwards - affecting many central/eastern areas late afternoon. Finn really wasn't sure about this carving by the Adamsholm foot bridge! Silly doggy.
  3. Oh my, not just beaten the record, but beaten it, put it in the boot of a car, taken it to the firing range, loaded it into a cannon and fired it across a playing field and then found the shell and melted it down to make a knife and fork to eat the record bit by bit.
  4. My pal in Gala reporting tropical heavy rain and temps of 34C according to the car... What a day.
  5. I'm working right by Waverley station today, and the yellow radar echoes moved over us and not a spot hit the ground! Boiling. I don't like.
  6. Ended up 27.6C for me. 24C forecast. At 9pm, it's 23C and sat outside with a beer, marveling at what can be, much like a -3C day with a foot of snow in January. Don't we love extremes....
  7. Look at those dew points, Donny now 35/2C. Remarkable.
  8. EDI was forecast 27C on GFS, so that is very interesting, but going by the 18/19C 850s above us just now perhaps not that surprising... 26.6C in the shuggee garden. My postcode was forecast 24C. Tomorrow's mid-day uppers are up to 23C
  9. Overcast and 20.1°C at 8.40pm with a pint of Black Sheep Ale in the garden (don't tell @Mair Snaw) .... Too hot for midges!!!
  10. Interesting logic @skifreak. 23.9°C in the shuggee garden this afternoon with +12/13°C 850s.
  11. Does that mean the current red warning is not the same as a red weather warning in other parts of the UK outside summer issued for wind and snow?
  12. 23.8C at 5pm. Scorcher. And you're right @SW Saltire - BBQ later, with the chicken that's been marinating in this bad boy since 8am:
  13. A high of 19.9°C, so still stuck at only three 20°C+ days this year. Cloud cleared suddenly at 12.30pm and then we had this to enjoy:
  14. Wardie Bay beach, 22C said the car at 5pm. Felt like another country....
  15. Puffy - you're living up to your name! Keep going lad. Tweed looking more like a river today, rather than an exposed gravel bed - that's my simple news. And for the moth enthusiasts: Cinnabar | Butterfly Conservation BUTTERFLY-CONSERVATION.ORG This species is so named due to the colour of the hindwings and the markings on the forewings which make it unmistakeable. There is little variation although on rare...
  16. For the heat haters on here, consider a move to the Borders - I've had a 20.3C, a 20.6C and a 23.2C this summer so far. That's three days 20C+.
  17. A glorious 23.2C yesterday easily beating the only other two previous 20C+ days of 20.3C and 20.6C over the last nine days. Interesting that is was another 'hottest day of the year so far', after Tomasz Schafernaker stated during Wednesday's weather slot at the end of BBC Radio 4's 'PM' bulletin, that 'Scotland would be cloudy and cool' having spent the other 97% of the allotted time talking about showers in England. I'll take that cloud and cool any time....
  18. Weekend photos - not bad weather apart from a splattering of rain for a few hours either side of Friday lunchtime (was quite heavy). Yesterday was lovely - 16C and sunny periods.... 19.4C in the garden just now. Moffat Rommano Bridge Upper Menzion
  19. A lovely weekend in Tweeddale. 19.5C on Sat with blazing sunshine and 17.5C Sunday with more of a milky hue. So lovely to be sat outside with pals.
  20. Here's the Tweed down the hill from me, to illustrate your point @mardatha - very dry.
  21. All the best @Puffy MacCloud - hoping for a rally and a return to the hoose for another season at least..... That cup full of tablets might be enough to tip the odds the right way young lad.... Had 19.9C a couple of weeks ago, but it looks like we are going to be even later than last year - remember how cold April/May were with multiple severe frosts? 20C+ was eventually breached for me on 30 May 2021 with a 23.7C and we thought that was late!
  22. Was that you just coming back from the nightclub @mardatha? Decent morning here, sprinkly rainy showers lasting a couple of minutes that's all. I'm threatening to cut the grass for the first time this weekend....
  23. Interesting! Can't see anything from here nor from the road @Norrance. Must be tucked away or tiny. Even after my first year here with 40 snow days, nothing lasted into June (well nothing that i could see!).
