  1. More worryingly, imagine what would be happening now if we did have a majorly active sun. Just serendipity?
  2. Seeing as the chart doesn't cover half of the UK - how can one possibly tell?!
  3. Currently not cold enough at sea level here in Leith for anything to settle. Temp risen 0.6ºC since 19h00.
  4. Spring - we want spring. Sunshine and warmth. A truly horrible day here of icy sleet. Urgh.
  5. Fleeting flurries of fluffyness here. Nothing lying.
  6. Looking very interesting that snow band - feeding from the east and sinking south. Reminiscent of winter 2009/10?
  7. Thanks guys Never spotted that But that would require me to stop using v4 and switch to v6 . I don't like change.
  8. Rather disappointed to see that xcweather have stopped reporting dew points, changing now to a humidity percentage (which means what exactly?!). Anywhere else I can get this information from now on?
  9. Blimey, we're all getting old - including the site! A great day. Congratulations to everyone
  10. Aye - graupel/snow giving a dusting in Leith. It's a miracle.
  11. As with previous winters, my observations this year are that we need -8ºC uppers or colder to achieve lying snow in the city centre and down into Leith. Simply hasn't happened this year, and for all the reasons listed above (moderation by the sea being the No.1 factor imho).
  12. Hopefully MT is a bit more tidied-up now after a therapeutic cleanse Cool/cold and dry - suits me. Although the heating bill won't be welcome...
  13. Just a quick note to stick to topic please at this peak time on the forum
  14. Hi Ijtw and welcome to posting in the model thread and on netweather You'll find lots of information about the GFS here that may help with your question: http://www.emc.ncep.....php?branch=GFS
  15. Aye Monday looks interesting for west of Dumfries/Perth/Inverness with -8ºC uppers and heavy ppn.
  16. Good luck mct. Driving on the left is fun, you'll be used to it in 20 minutes
  17. What a palaver Tom! Enjoying your story here
  18. Showers all up the east coast look like they are pepping up
  19. The ppn starts late tonight with more favourable conditions near the coast, but yes daytime tomorrow I'm thinking Corstorphine, Oxgangs, Liberton will be having fun. Not ruling out a surprise though!
