  1. White over after a good 25min heavy shower and 0.5°C, so going to be pretty in the morning. Looks to be more shower activity this evening than expected?
  2. Eleventh snow day and fifteenth air frost of the season (-0.7°C). Currently 1.0°C. Right on the snow line, with the valley below me green and my garden and the hills above increasingly white with height. A wet drip drip covering, and frequent snow showers.
  3. Chucking it down, big flakes 0.9°C. Might have to put the wellies on, grab the torch and go outside to have a look.
  4. Temp drop from a day-long steady 5.8/5.9°C to 1.8°C in an hour. Snow's on now!
  5. Boxing Day 2017, just a few months after moving here - not quite expecting this at 9am tomorrow, but it would be nice!
  6. Temp bobbed around 1C here most of today, then since dark it's been up to 2.4C. Like others, radar said snow, but haven't seen a flake falling all day! Here's Finn earlier, last snowy walk for a few days... Mind you going by XC, it's not long to wait for a proper dumping...
  7. The lightest of coverings on the car here yesterday between Tweedsmuir and Broughton, but I'd say a couple of cms in Peebles @Eastern Scotland WX Cold wind on today's 3 mile circular frozen hike below the house. Max of 1.0C and now at 18:45 it's -0.1C. So not much of a range! Evidence of a slight thaw in the sunshine prone areas, but nothing on the eastern slope I live on other than the frost white trees and bushes have thawed. Snow day 9 so already one more than the whole of last year's winter!
  8. Snow day eight and now the warmest (relatively) it's been for eight days at 0.5C. Snizzle. Few flakes very early this morning but snow/sleet passed north of Upper Tweeddale, although Peebles at 9am had fresh snow cover.
  9. Ew, watching that vidoe reminds me that after experiencing those conditions for any length of time, you close your eyes and still see snow blowing about. Even in bed two hours later. Or is it just me?!
  10. Was -17C Monday am. And it's all because Borders is an anagram of 'does brr'. Sorry. Taxi for shuggee.
  11. I will look back on these stats with disbelief in about six months time: Snow day no. 6, min -14.1C and max of -7.2C, which is the eleventh air frost.
  12. She's a lady caller who pops in ocassionally on skis to check in on my cats. She's married to Fred Flintsnow
  13. That -17.4C in West Linton isn't a surprise as the car said -16C in nearby Rommano Bridge/Lamancha. A measly -11.8C for me and my Guinea Fowl who have take to living in the tree above the lawn now in the cold, rather than on the satellite dish. Frida - Sunday and Tuesday now all look interesting. Monday - pffft, a blip!
  14. -10.0C here in the Borders just now, but driving home at 6pm we had a -12C in the car... Exceptional weather. Forgot to mention the max -7.3°C!
  15. -11.3C, coldest night in what is my sixth winter in Upper Tweeddale. Car clocked -14C in Rommano Bridge.
  16. Just to add to some great piccies - drove down stream to Peebles (needed to visit the temple that is Harbro). Cold, crisp, sub zero and sunny. Not many people about, a few families with sledges by Neidpath Castle. Back home now after driving at less than 40mph for the entrie journey and it's -2.6C already. Going to be a frigid few days me thinks.
  17. Down to -3.2C at midnight, so eighth air frost, then a steady climb to +0.2C at 8am with snow. Dam it. Couple more cms. Back down to -0.2C now. Have to go into Peebles this afternoon, fingers crossed for a trouble free drive...
  18. Daytime max of -0.5C so it's a third consecutive ice day. I don't think I've typed those words since 2010. Back to -3.1C now, and ppn not too far away... Dog walk:
  19. Ha! Snow in Ayr - fantastic. Back on here but nothing on the radar. Off out for a prolonged dog walk down by the Tweed at -1.1C. Might take a photo (or seventeen).
  20. Around 6-7cms in Upper Tweeddale. Once again the old addage 'get the cold in first' and sit tight has come true! Nobody forecast it... It's fluffy dry snow and has fallen in temperatures of around -4C, which in itself is unusual. Overnight low of -6.9CC current 'smirry snow' at -2.3C. Ace!
  21. Sixth air frost -6.3°C and daytime max of -0.6°C. Two ice days in a row - hold the front page. I might not have much snow, but I do have a full freezer and it is Friday. Currently at -3.1°C
  22. -1.1C max all day yesterday which is my first ice day for three years. -6.3C and frost five overnight, and a covering of snow this morning from a cheeky shower that developed out of nowhere ten miles north of me at 4am and moved over heading south. Nice!
  23. Fourth air frost at -4.3C and only now at 14.00 has the temp just gone positive at +0.2C. Dam it.
