Some more really pretty heavy rain. Surprised we not flooded tbh been that wet this week
Very heavy when it comes and it's been coming very often.
Upper Tweed valley was flooded into many fields either side of the river valley on Tuesday after the storm and lots of snow melt. Quite a sight when there's standing water across hundreds of acres.
Saturday forecast - snow all day, max 1C and accumulations of 13.5cm according to xc. We shall see...

0.4°C and heavy snow for !last hour. Everything lovely and covered, even between the cottage and garage that's basically a quagmire.
Best snow of the winter (in spring!). Morning gonna be interesting.

Temp up to 2.1/1.9°C now after a good inch of lying snow. Still coming down very heavily in showers and valley completely disappears in a fog of blowing snow, but blue sky between.
Wish I had the forward planning of @mardatha and @snowyqueen to get the panic buying into the cupboard as now I have to go to the supermarket.

Had a couple of beefy snow showers here during the afternoon. Laid very temporarily on grass. Chickens and cat unhappy.

Really recommend reading this excellent blog on Sunday's snowfall in Eire, Cumbria and the Borders:
Great checklist to keep handy for future reference. Thanks @Nick F

Aye, just come back from Biggar and settling well there. Just beginning to lie properly here at Rachan, south of Broughton. Shuggee will be pleased.
Aye Pete white over here now. Well pleased. Covering on the flagstones was the last to submit. Radar packed full so going to be an interesting event.
Occasional cars on the A701 moving past slowly and gloopy/slushy noises abound...

The heavier rain has just started here. Temp fallen from 7.4-5.3°C in an hour there. Dew point 1°C.
Not that I'm excited having seen the photos from Ireland or anything

Going to be interesting to watch this depression take shape and pull the ppn around itself. Various models predicting 6-12cm of snow for me after dark so Freya might become my favourite of the season so far.

Very interesting I am surprised I managed a lower minimum than you, similar on the air frosts but slightly different on the rainfall, amazing the differences in a short distance between my location and yours, the winter was a strange one and arguably a forgettable one too apart from the record breaking warm temps late on.
Some rain here overnight 2.5 mm currently 10.2 C pressure 995.97 Falling Rapidly -1.59 hPa/hr
possibly something wintry later tomorrow for the likes of @mardatha and @shuggee courtesy of the northern edge of storm Freya
meanwhile @ghoneym gets a taste of winter in Texas! https://kztv10.com/weather/2019/02/28/powerful-cold-front-to-bring-winter-back-to-texas/
"Next week: Winter returns
Behind the cold front, cold air will sweep over South Texas. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees, and it will feel like it is near freezing. Even on Tuesday, temperatures don’t change too much, so get the winter coat ready!"
Well various models have my location getting 8-16cms from 19h00 tomorrow. I wonder if it'll be enough to squeeze my seasonal snow day count into double figures. I'm almost smelling anticipation...!

Radar starting to look interesting for a few in here tonight. a big blob coming into the borders could this turn to snaw? also see some snaw showers across other areas as well.
2.4/1°C and we've had some "sleetyness" so far.... Not holding my breath.

Has the UK Meto ever been the first to use the list of named storms? It seems like it's our pals in Ireland or even Portugal that seem to actually want to use the system....
