Hail, graupel, snow grains, big flakes. The lot. 1.6/1.1°C. Haven't had a really sustained burst so still mainly green at my height but looking over the Tweed it's white at 300m+. Here we go again.

210mm here. First time I've looked at SEPA data. Cheers Catch/101_North

The Tweed valley in front of my home has flooded five times since we moved here in July 2017. Three of those five times has been in the last two weeks.
From 3am tomorrow for seven whole days, my temps only range between -2C and a few hours of 3C on one day forecast. Sleety mix it is.

Snow for 20miles on the drive home, from top of Penicuik. Quite thick in places and barrelling down just now at home. Mesmerising.

Fair amount of the white stuff above 200m this morning. Driving fine if a bit slushy in places. Still lots of flooding, and one of the worst sections of the A701 above Skirling has an enormous pot hole in the middle of a long stretch of flooding that took out the whole wheel of a car. Temporary traffic lights installed... Quite a bow wave at 15mph!

I'm working late in Edinburgh and the snow is on at home - white-over apparently. Drive home might be interesting as looking at the radar there's a fair old blob still to pass over....
shuggee worry index at 5.4

Down to 1.9C overnight so everything just wet. Snow was billowing down before bed, and looking around at dawn on my drive into Edinburgh, I'd say it's hills above 300m that are white.

Absolutely disgusting. Persistent heavy sploshy rain in a gale. Easily the worst weather I have walked my dog in in the 12 months I've had him.
Roads flooded too - main A701 into Broughton has merged withe the raging burn that runs alongside to form a river. Tweed Valley 300m wide flooded. No wonder they put DENNIS on the front of fire engines.

Snow earlier. Got down to -2.0C before midnight and temps rose soon after.

Result HC - get to go out in it at last...
Got back home to additional 4cm. Must have pelted down in that lot that passed through at 11am/12noon. Thursday morning? It says 6cm of snow at -1 or 0C before 8am... We shall see.
Currently -0.4C. So that's my twenty fifth air frost.

Snow all the way in from home to into the upper reaches of Penicuik. Pretty bad round the top above Skirling where the road was dodgy into Blyth Bridge and then Lamancha. Many neighbours' power been off (we've been lucky at cottage shuggee). 9cm on grass 2-3cm on other surfaces.

Total at end of amber warning is 7cm on grass and 1cm icy smattering on concrete/hard surfaces. Roof maybe 3cm.
Hakf way up the hill behind the house at say 50m higher the dark trees are christmas-like covered in icing sugar. It's that marginal. Marvellous.

Almighty crack of forked lightning in the valley, just as I was standing at the window. As the snow and graupel came down in buckets.
Don't see that very often.

0.8C and it's marginal here. Nothing falling just now is adding to the couple of cms on the ground and the roads are black. Let's see if that temp drops 0.5C and six hours of amber warning make an impact.

I was thinking of you when I saw that area map and that you might be wise to nip up to Broughton for your 'snowed in' rations. The A701 can get a wee bit 'drifty' !
Went to Tesco in Peebles on Saturday and stocked-up big time! Local shop in Broughton selling bags of oak to burn though - always worth a visit as it's hot hot hot.
Dewpoint has gone negative for the first time during this 36 hour spell. Nice.

Overnight temp got up to 1.6C and it was clearly sleeting on the velux in the early hours. Now 0.4/0.0C and snow swirling about - that's more like it.
Fifth snow day.

Temp got back down to 0.4/0.0°C an hour ago and snow piling up nicely. Now 0.8/0.6°C and it's almost sleety, with melt/slush on hard surfaces and the drenched wet soil back. Blowing a hoolie too. Talk about a fine line between hero and zero!

Thundersnow. Marvellous. Two lightning strikes and cracks of thunder while snow was mental. Wondered what on earth was going on!
