  1. The Tweed valley in front of my home has flooded five times since we moved here in July 2017. Three of those five times has been in the last two weeks.

From 3am tomorrow for seven whole days, my temps only range between -2C and a few hours of 3C on one day forecast. Sleety mix it is.

  2. Fair amount of the white stuff above 200m this morning. Driving fine if a bit slushy in places. Still lots of flooding, and one of the worst sections of the A701 above Skirling has an enormous pot hole in the middle of a long stretch of flooding that took out the whole wheel of a car. Temporary traffic lights installed... Quite a bow wave at 15mph!

The Met Office have just issued a yellow weather warning for snow above 200 m ASL across a large part of the upland Highlands area and a good chunk of the Southern Uplands. The Euro 4 is modelling impressive new snow accumulations over the mountains between now and tomorrow night.

2.8/2°C here at the moment. Precipitation a couple of hours away. Can't be late for work in the morning.....

  4. Absolutely disgusting. Persistent heavy sploshy rain in a gale. Easily the worst weather I have walked my dog in in the 12 months I've had him.

Roads flooded too - main A701 into Broughton has merged withe the raging burn that runs alongside to form a river. Tweed Valley 300m wide flooded. No wonder they put DENNIS on the front of fire engines.

  5. Result HC - get to go out in it at last...

Got back home to additional 4cm. Must have pelted down in that lot that passed through at 11am/12noon. Thursday morning? It says 6cm of snow at -1 or 0C before 8am... We shall see.

Currently -0.4C. So that's my twenty fifth air frost.

  6. Snow all the way in from home to into the upper reaches of Penicuik. Pretty bad round the top above Skirling where the road was dodgy into Blyth Bridge and then Lamancha. Many neighbours' power been off (we've been lucky at cottage shuggee).  9cm on grass 2-3cm on other surfaces.

I was thinking of you when I saw that area map and that you might be wise to nip up to Broughton for your 'snowed in' rations. The A701 can get a wee bit 'drifty' !

Went to Tesco in Peebles on Saturday and stocked-up big time! Local shop in Broughton selling bags of oak to burn though - always worth a visit as it's hot hot hot.

Dewpoint has gone negative for the first time during this 36 hour spell. Nice.

The Met Office warning covers a large swathe of southern Scotland with disruption expected.

Ooooo. I appear to be in the middle of that lovely amber colour. :cold:
