Looks like the end of the week and over next weekend should produce some more widespread frostyness.
My weather station is on an east facing slope at 40° with the hill rising 150m above the cottage. So we are sheltered to the prevailing sw and w'ly wind which we've had a lot of!

Certainly looks interesting from a 'good god isn't this infernal winter over yet' point of view...
Has there been an occassion this 'winter' that -10C air at 850hpa has visited our shores? Not sure that I've actually seen it.

Thirty-second air frost at -3.5C. Was pretty but apologies for the boring post.

Thirty first air frost at -4.7C. Lovely sunrise as others have been saying - blindingly low (obvs!).

Thirtieth air frost at -1.3C. Loving that it's now properly light from 06.30.

Down to -0.1C overnight making it my twenty-ninth air frost. Scrape scrape scrape.

Sleety snow showers again. Fair billowing about in the heavier bursts. Nothing lying below 350m and Meto yellow warning has disappeared.

Temp has bounced around in all this sleet/snow. Was down to 0.6°C and settling snow, then back up to current 2.2°C and only remnants on grass with icy sleet. Story of this winter at my location.

Was snowing/sleety even in Peebles this afternoon - slushy deposits nearly sent me flying with a gust of wind up my gusset.

Twenty eighth air frost at -0.1C around 10pm last night. Temps bounced along toward 1C all night and now up to 4c as the wind has picked-up and light rain around.

Twenty seventh air frost overnight at - 1.0°C. Fair covering of white powder and a beautiful dawn at first light pinky bluey. Quiet cold day in Edinburgh.

Was snowing at home at 6.30am but never really stuck until further north/east past Blyth Bridge. Understand it's still green at home now - too far south and west it seems.... Pah.
