  1. Car said 2.5°C here, need to get my wx station fixed for the annual air frost count!
  2. Smirry rain here on and off until 3pm, then dry and then blue skies. Temp went up from 15C to 19.4C. Humid. Tomorrow looks erm, interesting...
  3. 11C from 4.30pm all evening yesteday. As a result: Mind you the warmth made one of my new kittens adventure out:
  4. Still bone dry here despite this undulating sky yesterday early afternoon. Warm by the Tweed in Peebles today, such a lovely sight with picnicers, folk paddling and a perfect breeze.
  5. Today is the seventh consecutive of 25C+ in Upper Tweeddale. That's as astonishing as the week of minus double digit temperatures back in December 2022. Peaked at 28.7C on Sunday which was hotter here than the readings during the plume when England experienced the 41C+ heatwave last August. Extremes are clearly in fashion!
  6. Finally broke the 20°C barrier today with 20.8°C recorded in the garden. Couple of shots out n about in the last few days maybe worth sharing, sunny Sunday, cloudy Saturday:
  7. Ended up at 19.6C and this dark electric monster passed by east of the house: Missed it over Peebles by an hour - phew. Was dry afterall. Pleased Finn: Rather quiet out and about. Sainsbury's was even bearable. Mind you, the peace was shattered or more rumbled earlier, as the annual Blyth Bridge tractor run passed the house mid morning - some beasts of old machines and some very smiley enthusiasts: Four hours later these guys were through the centre of Peebles - could hear them whilst down by the river. Excellent work and raising money for Macmillan.
  8. Just back from a few days in Paris - 24C and sunny. I have the start of a tan. Was lovely yesterday at 17C in the Borders, but looks interesting today with 40% thunder storm chance across Borders/E Lothian according to estofex. Likely to get wet this afternoon then! Plan to take dog walk in Peebles and go to the garden centre for the first of the season's bedding plants. Not missing anything else am I?
  9. First swifts/swallows/housemartins sighted here yesterday. Earliest in the six years I've lived here. Bet they regretted it with this morning's 42nd air frost at -4.8C!
  10. What happened to all the forecast doom and gloom from today onwards? Cloud, drizzle etc., no chance of 20C again for quite some time was yesterday's narrative. But it's been wall to wall sunshine in the Borders and even in haar-central Edinburgh. Bootiful.
  11. Definitely the case in Peebles this afternoon. Up to 13C in the early afternoon sunshine then 3C according to the car at 4pm in a substantial hail/sleet downpour.
  12. Snow at 450m in the Borders/Pentlands this morning. Pretty. Min of 1.4C at the house.
  13. Same here in Upper Tweeddale. 39th air frost at -1.8°C this morning, then 13.2°C in the warm sunshine. Lovely.
  14. Driving home from Edinburgh tonight, car says 0.5C windscreen says splat splat of sleet. Awful. Snow nearly all gone as of 8pm...
  15. You turn your back for half an hour... -0.2C at 1pm is good for March.
  16. This morning's micro dusting: Lovely sunny blue skies earlier, but snow on now. 2.6C from a 34th air frost at -2.9C. Not couting that above as a snow day!
  17. Those 500hpa temps are cold! Interesting to see what happens later. Thanks @Kirkcaldy Weather
