  1. Anyone got an up-date on the reported passing of the solar minimum earlier in the year? I ask because it seems that there is still a dearth of any awakening signs of magnetic storms and sunspots - all quiet on the Sol front?
  2. Now that at T+384 we have the first predictions from the GFS model for Christmas Day 2018 it felt like a good idea to post daily that chart every 24 hours to see its progression. Think it will be a fascinating insight into the FI sphere and then into reliable to see where we end up. Comment is of course welcome in the Hunt for Cold thread
  3. Day 3 of 12z 25 December 2018 being in range of the daily 12z GFS and we have T+336.
  4. Three times now we've had ppn at -1°C or lower and it's been rain. Weird Nov/Dec.

      Happened here once last winter. One of the most infuriating things for snow lovers. Worse than missing out altogether.

  15. A good 5mm of glaze ice all over the car this morning - heavy freezing rain at -2C. Bugger to get off!
  16. Car registering -7°C this morning and the screen wash didn't defrost for over an hour. Winter is coming.

      The car was serviced in July and the garage put diluted wash in.  I always use neat.  Their bad.

  17. Sleet pellet-snow, cold wind. Not forecast - love it. Dew point back up now though 2.2/1°C.

  21. A much much better day. Dry and from 2pm sunny. Lovely to see the light and with a low-ish dew point it has started to dry-up.
