It rained a couple of times but was light and mostly just drizzle. I think this was on the Saturday and Sunday morning (not sure if it rained during the early hours at any point though). No mud at all. Other than being a bit windy at times and ridiculously hot on the Wednesday, this year was a perfect weather year for me.

Looks good but wellies still coming with me as we all know that the weather at Glastonbury has a mind of its own. It cannot be trusted

2014 weather was as follows (checked photos to try and remember but might not be spot on). I arrived early afternoon Thursday 26th June - light rain soon after arriving with intermittent showers throughout the afternoon with one heavy one although I think the evening was ok. Ground was quite muddy in places but not terrible and some areas still fine. Temps mild. Friday 27th was ok for most of the day with some sunny spells and periods of light rain. Then around 6ish it absolutely chucked it down with hail as well. Total mud bath after that. 28th June Saturday. Very muddy on site but I don't think it rained again, or if it did it was not a lot. Again, mild temps. Sunday 29h June - sunny and most of the site managed to dry out ok. Monday fine and sunny

Thanks as always for doing this, it is really appreciated. Will be packing my rucksack today so going off last nights forecast, will pack for sunny and rainy weather. I have some lovely new purple waterproof trousers to take with me this year

Thanks as always Jackone. I couldn't go to the festival this year but still can't help watching this topic and hoping for everyone else that the end of June will be a repeat of the sunfest that was Glastonbury 2010.

Ok, it is a mud bath. But it is also sunny and warm at the moment. Fingers crossed it will dry out a bit.

Well, this needs to be it for me as I really need to pack today as I won't get another chance before travelling down on the national express on Wednesday. Now comes the batlle of getting everything I need for five days into a 65 litre rucksack.

This is very true - it can rain a fair bit and still not cause the mudbath that we all so want to avoid. I am still reasonably optimistic - a 6 or less on the dustbowl to washout scale is perfectly acceptable to me. If it gets worse than this then pack full waterproofs. Wellies, waterproof trousers, jacket and hat. This can turn a miserable festival experience into a bearable one. I won't tell fibs, it may still be a bit of an endurance test but it will be preferable to sitting in an office all day.

Might be needing my woollies at this rate

Still looking optimistic. I will however be packing everything in waterproof bags and wearing my wellies to travel in just in case.

Reading this forum is part of the definitive Glastonbury Festival experience! I have to admit, more than a little worried that the last three years have been pretty good weather for Glasto (with last year being exceptional). Putting all your clever scientific stuff aside, law of averages tells me we are probably due a wet one - just please not the continually cold drizzle of 2007. I would be happy with a mixture of rain and sun as long as the weather was predominantly dry Thanks Jackone as always. Rachel

After reading this forum for a while, just thought it was about time I said thank you for the work you do here - it is much appreciated. We can't change the weather but by reading this forum we can certainly be more prepared for it. But if I could have a wish list, top of it would be like frostypaw already mentioned and to not have a repeat of 2007. A simply offensive year weather wise at Glastonbury.
