  1. Brum looking ok tonight after midnight. Further south east is dung
  2. Saw the clouds light up earlier to my south east about 11pm ish, Likely a Perseid fireball, I've seen four dim Perseids tonight. Cloud has won so time to go home.
  3. Last Friday I saw three meteors, one was a Perseid. Not really clear skies forecast for the peak of the shower, maybe some clear spells though. Last year I saw distant lightning over the channel and Perseids. Took these in a park a couple of miles from town.
  4. Lightning around Mildenhall area half hour ago, only the second time I've seen lightning at night this year.
  5. https://zoom.earth/#view=52.0365,0.4599,8.93z/date=2021-07-25,13:00,+1/layers=wind,fires
  6. Your likely too far east to get a storm today. Sudbury and south Suffolk have slightly higher chance.
  7. This developed from altocumulus about 11.30 Looking west towards Cambridge.
  8. OT Is Sutton Bank still the narrow curving steep road as I remember, with the viewpoint at the top. Or has the road layout been changed ?
  9. Question Is the rainfall accumulations option on radar,or app, only for Netweather extra?.
  10. I didn't here thunder yesterday nr BSE, or see any sferics on the maps. There was a heavy shower a few miles to the south around 6pm. Only 1mm here, very localised. Nice photo though.
  11. Monday might see some thunderstorms, with a brief plume and low across the south.
  12. A hint of NLCs through the gap 23.15 yesterday.
  13. Too much cloud here, Norfolk would be clearer.
  14. A swirl in the clouds just now from convergence. More obvious if it's sped up Hope it's ok to add a largish file. PXL_20210702_122203569.mp4
  15. Low chance of an elevated import overnight. Monday and Tuesday has potential ,might just end up wet. Too far out for detail ATM.
  16. Another phone pic from 23.40 on June 23rd
  17. Phone pic nearly full moon behind me
  18. We would have to hope our insurance companies would pay out.
  19. Yeah that's quite far west ATM, good luck if your out later. The lack of data over the continent may be giving us a surprise...
  20. The problem is that new cells will develop on the eastern flank of the previous cell. This makes the sferics creep east ahead of the perceived flow, unless some discreet cells erupt locally...
  21. Amazing shot of the houses of argument I didn't see anything on the radar yet!
  22. Alot of rain making it impossible to take photos, NE surfuce wind dragging in the north sea cloaking device (fractus) hiding the lightning? This is how it often pans out with an MCS for my area. Unless the MCS tracks further west of here and then it's usually better, with less clag and more strikes visible. The further southeast your location the better I think with this one. If you can get a view of the leading cells approaching, before the rain arrives would be good. Beggers can't be choosers though lol
