  1. One day in July where a weak storm rumbled about 6-7 miles to the east of my location for about 20 minutes.....and that was it for the whole summer storm wise. I cannot believe that Summer 2010 could have turned out to be so pathetically uneventful. Next spring/summer can only be an improvement....it certainly could not get any worse.
  2. June scored a 9 for me...a super month in the main with plenty of sunshine and high temperature days. Would have scored a 10 had there been any decent thundery activity but nonetheless a great month. July only gets a 3...an absolutely turgid month of seemingly endless drab dull days...humid drizzly nothingness.....totally forgettable and uninspiring. Overall the summer scores a 6...now lets see what August brings.
  3. No Storms Club members go berserk after missing out again
  4. Thunderstorm has passed with 2-3 miles of my location...many rumbles heard and a few flashes seen....the thunder drought is over
  5. Well done to those who have got lucky today...but please spare a thought for those of us who are missing out.....YET AGAIN
  6. Hoping everyone in the NSC gets their prayers answered today but for my part I have already resigned myself to today not delivering. There is just too much cloud which stubbornly refuses to break with even spots of drizzle now and then. Sorry I just dont see any chance today for me. July 14th and still no thunder heard all year.....incredible.
  7. Grey skies and drizzle...expectations of seeing/hearing anything of interest today pretty much zero. Expectations of still being in the NSC at the end of today nearly 100%
  8. I dont know what to think....what often happens when BBC forecasters predict "sharp showers" we get bangers...on the other hand when "humdingers" - yes Ms Kirkwood im referring to you - are predicted nothing significant happens. Time will tell.
  9. From null : "Although a HIGH RISK is likely come Wednesday for some parts, I feel I've been a little too progressive in issuing a HIGH at this very early stage. I should of gone from SLIGHT to MODERATE and then updated to HIGH when confidence was higher. I'll keep it as it is right now and should it be necessary update again closer to the event. " I smell backtracking....I fear some of us are going to be disappointed again.
  10. "north-east Midlands and eastern England would be the more favoured spots to see showers and storms". Hmm...where have I heard that before? Already sounds like the tiresome east gets everything of interest scenario is likely to pan out yet again. If that is indeed the case then an interesting day for people living there. Apologies if I sound begrudging....but not having heard a single rumble this year...the possibility of missing out again is infuriating.
  11. So am I....I've got a bad feeling tomorrow might turn out to be overhyped...and that any actual storms will clip Kent (again!) with the rest of us getting non-electrified showers.
  12. Time for some reverse psychology on here me thinks. Nothing is going to happen for any of us. Nothing is going to happen...maybe the odd spot of drizzle while the Benelux countries somehow nick it all again.
  13. I just hope that ALL of us can look back on July 14th 2010 as the day we left the No Storms club. It would be better still if we were all treated to absolute bangers on and off throughout that day to make up for the storm drought we have had to endure.
  14. If we are all still members of this club by Friday then we might as well all pack up and go home. After what I have read on the null site regards Wednesday, it would be the mother of all let downs if nothing happens.
  15. Fairly cloudy and quite windy...a rubbish day you'd think? Far from it...the aforementioned wind is pretty warm...its humid and out of the wind you realise just how very warm a day it actually is. Temp 25c dew point 16c
