    I wish I were in Luxembourg tonight that line is heading directly for them!Anyone know the mechanics of lightning? it just seems weird to me that the rain has kept its intensity but the lightning has pretty much dissipated.

    I love storms as long as they do not surprise me when I am asleep, there is nothing worse then being jolted out of bed by an explosion of sound caused by a close lightning strike!I still get a bit nervous at night when I see lightning, I think it stems from when I was younger I used to be petrified of storms, it was really bad. Even the slightest mention of storms and I would be nervous, I used to be scared of the song Think Twice by Celine Dion because there was a line saying there will be a storm tonight. Me being a child didn't realize that the two didn't have any correlation. I was born in the 90's and we all know how the 90's where for storms.

    One place in France has recorded 55 lightning strikes within one square mile!!Pretty sure this stuff is heading ENE so probably won't get a look in from this stuff, I have learnt to deal with disappointment haha.

    you should check out Australia some of those storms are crazy, France is lighting up like the 5th of November.

    looks like Estofex are still going back and fourth over the models as they haven't released a forecast yet.The sun is starting to become more abundant now.

    I am pretty sure everything is almost finished producing lightning unfortunately, I was hoping for a light show, now we shall see about tomorrow.

    I have seen a few of the familar videos being shared around, the Hitler misses the storm one and the 1994 MCS video!Really nice night out there im having a little bonfire whilst enjoying the evening after a bbq.

    I am having another barbecue, we have pretty much coated everything in Nando's sauce lolCap is too strong so far lets hope we can get some destabilization over night.I have had two weeks off of work (halfway through right now) its been perfect.

    Impressive storm over Wales right now but there is an even bigger one in Finland! Lets hope some of that stuff over N.France can become something special!I recently brought a new patio umbrella/sun shade, I will be using it in the event of a storm!! Don't think it will offer much protection though. lol

    I am currently watching the Hamburg Earth Cam because a storm is moving into the city!http://www.earthcam.com/world/germany/hamburg/Storms seem to be going straight west to east today! Very blustery not had any rain and it feels quite nice outside.

    Definatley one of those days, I think the storm lasted a good 3/4 hours though, we got some good hail also. The lightning was awesome, I have a very low quality video of it somewhere I may upload it at some point.I wouldn't mind storm chasing around Europe for a few days this summer, I don't think it would be too expensive for one or two days.

    June 28th 2009 was a great storm an I don't remember getting a storm in 2005 but I seem to recall August 2006 more? Can anyone shed some light?Yesterday was ok for my area some mean looking skies and even a couple claps of thunder, I didn't hear anything at about 7 even though I was at the back door watching the rain pour down.I have a good feeling about this year as there have been way more storm reports than I can remember from this time of year. I think a big factor this year was the mild winter weather, the water surrounding the UK didn't have a chance to cool as much as it normally would and is running at or just above average. I hope this helps with surfaced based storms.

    Had two quite abrupt cracks of thunder here, I thought someone was moving a bin down my alley way until I looked on the ATD map and saw that there were two lightning strikes over Elstree..

    I can see some nice cumulus congestus going up here but the higher they go the more they look like they are falling apart though.EDIT: I thought I just heard thunder... turns out its bin day here. Damn! :)EDIT EDIT?: turns out it WAS thunder after all! hahahahaha.

    Nothing but rain here today, good that people are getting storms though reminds me of the April showers we used to get frequently.

    Showed this in the South East thread, picture sucks but I thought it may have been a funnel cloud/tornado but someone else suggested it might be a hail shaft.

    Tornado/Funnel Cloud maybe? I couldn't get a decent picture because I do not have a decent camera. Spotted this first due south of my location it went behind a row of houses and then popped up there. Thoughts?
