  1. To be honest, storms can form at any time depending on the type of conditions, there are 2 types of storms, Elevated and surface based. Elevated can last all night at times, ut surface based develope mainly in the day, mostly in the afternoon but even these can last a good couple of hours depnding on if the conditions are right. Someone else will be able to explain betteer than me but i can try :L
  2. I noticed this as well, some very potent looking showers there, in actuall fact the IOW Lightning detector picked up sferic around that area aswell
  3. Really starting to look interesting on the radar, those towers I could see earlier are still there and looking bigger! Also looks liek a few showers popping up on the radar in parts of Hampshire too, gonna be an interesting couple of hours radar watching indeed
  4. I can those towers from here, infact I can see a load of towers going up along way to my north but I have a great view here on the Island and can see a lot of the mainland easily Good luck to everyone today and for the rest of the weekend, if saturday still looks good me and my friend will be going on our first storm chase of the year in the UK obviously haha, Fingers are crossed!
  5. OMG Where has all this come from? :o Some very exciting looking charts and mouth watering, probably the most thundery looking charts I have seen than the whole of last year put together! Tuesday looking like it could be interesting so fingers crossed there, as for next saturday that would be fantastic if that pulled off but still 7 days away but very mouth watering none the less
  6. I too give Harry +1 because like Blizards said, its the truth and plenty of time for things to change between now and then! Just gotta keep fingers crossed and be positive, shall be keeping eye on it and we will get the better picture by Sunday evening/ Monday morning for Tuesday
  7. Just you wait till summer pal, kent will get most of the french imports most likely as they always do, hopefully us to Just be patient
  8. I've noticed this too, cape and LI look ok as well for it, wonder if could be a bit further more west if it came off 18z rolling out any minute so lets see if it still suggests the risk of an Isolated Thunderstorm or 2 for the South East
  9. We managed to hit 23c in central IOW today coast, I agree with you it just does not get better than this in April, I would like to ask April one more but maybe too much to ask, but a big juicy fat Thunderstorm
  10. Really glad to see these Thunder and Lightning reports coming in, Radar looks Lively and quite a few Sferics being picked up still
  11. Radar Definatly picking up really nicely, good to everyone today it's looking very interesting for you Midlanders indeed
  12. Yeh I saw those too, they looked pretty impressive and has looked thundery all Afternoon
  13. If the Storms are Elevated then it doesn't matter if the waters are cold, surface based stuff it will die though, its what my freind has taught me and he is very clever at the weather and storms, trust me
  14. Im going to go for 8.7c, the first half of April I reckon is going to be warm and some very temperatures for beginning of April by what the charts have been saying. Threw second half I reckon it will become more unsettled with Atlantic Influenced weather and maybe a Northerly!
  15. They look very impressive and looks like they have the potential for a crack of thunder or 2, theres 3 towers by the look of it
  16. It looks like 2 showers have broke out over Hampshire, if it wasn't so hazy and misty in the distant, I might be able to see the Towers of these 2 showers! Both look pretty potent little showers
  17. Ahaa sounds interesting for those areas, good luck to whoever lives in the SW today Getting closer and closer till summer and those proper storms hopefully, next Friday and Saturday looks liek it may have a slight potential still, but still too far out to say!
  18. The First real Thunderstorm I reckon into the 2nd week of May, I reckon Thunderstorms pushing up from S/SSE flow into central Southern England and the SE
  19. I wasn't saying I was getting excited about it, I only put them on for a bit of encouragement, I know its too far out I already said that I only put them on because it was nice to see. 18z stil looks pretty thundery but too far out I know!
  20. Still nice to see the firs tof these type of charts, as you know summer is getting closer If its still there by 12z or 18z then ill get more into it, pity its so far away :/
  21. Haha thats true but this is the day after Aprils fools day, so probably extra bit more potential :L Would be funny but cruel if it was an April fools joke, actually it probably is knowing FI lol
  22. Right I know this is really far out into fi but thought I might aswell put these on to show Solid plume and 21c this would sweet if this came off especially with that cape and LI high into the S and SE. It probably won't happen but still gotta love this chart!
  23. We got lucky towards end of June around the 25h, had a short warm/very warm spell and then got hit by Thunderstorms on the thursday evening of June 25h which came up from the South East. Fingers crossed for a hot thundery summer
  24. This is how I have seen winter here: End of November into December: This was a very exciting periods, there was quite a few days with snow which was fun, and one evening Thunder snow out to sea with amazing Lightning strikes. 1st and ND of December was amazing especially Wednesday night into Thursday which ended up giving the most snow Ive ever seen in my life over over a foot and huge snow drifts. I remember band of snow developing to the east and just continued to grow and hit around 9pm and didn't stop until Thursday afternoon Threw the rest of December it actually remained very cold and there was another period of snow threw mid month which gave a few cms on a Saturday and Sunday, unfortunately this was the last of the snow . Christmas period was very cold with very low minima's with a -8 being recoded . Into January: This ended up being a mild month and quite a quiet month with not much to talk about, apart from one of the days having light snow falling in the morning but didnt do anything. There was also one day where there was lightning and thunder out too sea, and couple more wet days and windy. February: This was a very mild month but quite interesting at times, there was 2 days where we had thunder and lightning, one was on a Monday afternoon during mid month, and one the Saturday just gone which was very nice hear and see. Quite a few days with rain and wind at beginning of the month too, but there have been days with just cloud and some nice days too. All in all I think its been an interesting winter, especially December with the snow and extremely low temperatures. January quiet and mild, February very mild but with more stuff to talk about than January. If I was to rate this winter I would give it 7/10, mainly for December and the thunder towards end of February.
  25. Wheyy the sun is out Very nice out there and feels nice when sun is on you, but out of it, its pretty chilly with Temperature upto 7.2c
