  1. This has been a real disapointment to all of us living in the Eastbourne/Brighton area. A few brief showers on Tuesday and Wednesday leaving a light dusting and despite all the hype yesterday and BBC weather indicating we would get light snow most of the day followed by 3 hours of heavy snow into the evening we got diddly squat. I'm happy for the majority who got a decent amount of snow but don't assume that everyone got some. The lack of accuracy with the forecasting was for me very annoying.
  2. Here a few miles inland from eastbourne and Pevensey we had about half an hour of heavy snow at about 8pm last night then it turned to rain. i looked out the window a few times during the night and it was rain until about 5am when it was turning sleety. it was snow by about 7am however it's very slushy here and although it's still snowing it doesn't seem to be settling anymore. Anyone know if i can expect any decent settling snow?? When i lived in crawley it was mainly snowless for the 14 years i lived there, now just as i move down here (well 3 years ago) i realise this is a pretty poor place for decent snow even when everywhere else is getting battered.
  3. Don't think I've ever heard drizzle described as stunning before...lol Well we seem to have done quite badly out of the last 2 weeks. As a child I lived in Coulsdon and remember really bad snow in the 80's and of course in my memories thought everywhere around was the same. Coulsdon this time had really thick snow so perhaps Eastbourne and this coastal area always has done quite badly for snow even in the mystical 80's....
  4. Did we get any snow last night, so tired had to go to bed early and no evidence of anything this morning in Stone Cross
  5. Nothing at all here in Eastbourne. Whilst driving home from my parants in Godstone came across a few areas of heavy snow, best of them just outside crawley, but alas nothing at all here on the south coast. Anyone any ideas if I can live in hope of anything for me in the next few days.
  6. Eye...please don't sound so smug....or maybe it's me just being bitter I'm glad you have snow as i know how much you love it. I have always loved snow and yearn for a return to the late 70's and 80's winters but alas all i got was a load of rain and it's raining again now.....That's my fault i know for moving so close to the south coast...but after 12 years living over 30 miles away from the coast and hardly seeing any settling snow i now feel a bit deflated to say the least.........
  7. Don't be too dispondent.....actually i am. I also got nothing but heavy rain here...........yet where i lived up until 3 months ago for 12 largely snowless years (Crawley) i believe got a fair bit. life just aint fair...and now it's blowing a gale outside...with rain of course
  8. OHH The depression is starting to hit me now...It looks like my area the south coast is going to miss out...BBC weather yesterday were showing loads of little snow symbals for me bu i now see they have changed their minds and are going for rain. Anyway perhaps time for me to look further afield...Ok I'm not too hot on the charts. Any of you kind souls see anything interesting beyond saturday and the predicted end of this possible Snowy (for some) but ridiculously short snowy spell.... Will we ever see a sustained cold and snowy spell like we used to get in the late 70's and early/mid 80's or do we have to put up with a bit of leading edge snow from the westerlies hitting cold air these days?
  9. I also tried to view the Express online and like everyone else don't want to buy the paper just for what i'm sure will be a headline for the sake of it with nothing to back it up. The Express I'm sure did do a similar thing last year at just about this time. I'm sure i started a thread on the very subject. They are famous for their scare mongering headlines though. However I think most of us on here would love to see it happen. It's good to be back. I'm not overly interested in summer weather just winter weather and the possibility of snow. It's good to see Eye in the Sky and all the other regulars again though. Moving soon from Crawley to Eastbourne so i'm sure i've shot myself in the foot once again and decreased my chances of snow. Here's to an interesting winter... Wayno
  10. I'm happy to have AKI RIKHILLATI at the Palace..........That's the only Fin we need top player and person...
