  1. If those charts come off I wouldn't care if the rest of winter was mild!
  2. Can't say I'm bothered either way, nobody on here controls the weather, it'll do what it's going to do. Great 00z runs, whether they're right or wrong, chasing cold charts is all part of the fun, for me anyway.
  3. That squall line at the back edge of the rain band was vicious, extremely heavy rain & hail, strong winds & even a poor pigeon sat on the roof ended up falling off onto the garden lying on it's side before thankfully standing up & just sat there waiting out the heavy rain & hail.
  4. Another bust here, can see flashes from the storm to the south east but that won't be heading this way.
  5. So annoying that areas enduring the highest temps are missing out on the storms!
  6. Well that's easy to answer, electronic gear that gives off heat, quite surprised how warm the tv is to the touch, router is running around 60c, yamaha av amp gets warm when running, laptop too when it's in use plus this is an upstairs room so heats rising from downstairs. Got three temperature monitors in the room, readings right now as of 22:20 one reading 31c, other two 32c & by dawn with all windows wide open it only drops to around 27c.. I'm also careful with opening doors & windows during the day as I have a budgie & don't believe in keeping birds locked in a cage all day but in this heat I'm beginning to crack lol. Might close him in for a few hours to open them but if you think about opening doors & windows during the day is just letting the hot air in from outside, that's why I leave them open overnight instead.
  7. Not good, average temp in this room today has been 33c, 34c at a max, so oppressive! I like very warn weather even hot but not for this amount of time! Honestly can't wait for some fresher air to come along!
  8. Well said, utterly disgraceful & all that damn litter is such a menace to wildlife too! Shame we won't have a strong biting cold wind all weekend, might stop a few of those people from going to their local parks to turn them into a tip.
  9. Why can't these hideous cold charts just implode like they usually do during the winter months! Absolutely gorgeous outside today, would rather this continued instead of cold crud returning.
  10. Nope you can add me to, absolutely hideous charts being pumped out for this time of year, sods law says they'll probably become reality when I'd rather have some spring warmth!
  11. Oh wow, that's awesome, really does give me faith in the human race to hear of so many people helping our spiky friends out, god knows they need all the help they can get!
  12. Just a heads up but If you have any dense shrubs or plants etc in your garden it might be worth checking underneath for any sleeping hedgehogs, with some fence panels coming down they would have had access & they'll be trapped & unable to get back out of you garden when you replace your fencing. Wish everyone thought about those little creatures though as they're so precious & created access for them into their gardens by cutting a hedgehog hole as we call it in their fencing , that would go a long way to reversing their decline & preventing their extinction as our gardens are there last haven due to habitat loss but sadly most gardens they can't even get into.
  13. Can't wait for high pressure to return, I really do detest stormy weather like this!
  14. Ah well I guess there's one bonus to not having lying snow, we don't end up all depressed seeing it melting & getting washed away by the rain! BBC weather just now talking of possible 14c/15c by the end of the week, the sounds very appealing I must admit.
  15. If only the snowflakes were bigger, would be settling nicely but as is it's just nice to see it falling.
  16. 2/10 here in the west country, nice cold days although that strong wind meant tot much of any ground frosts. Some snow to the east of me, snow to the north of me, heck even some snow to the south west of me in Devon & Cornwall which did settle (saw a video clip from Truro) but apart from a few very slight snow flurries this cold spell has been a complete bust in terms of decent snowfall.
  17. Must admit it will be a bit gutting to have been enduring bitterly cold days, especially due to that windchill to see this cold spell go out on a whimper with maybe a bit of snow blowing around in the wind tomorrow. I've noticed the sun hitting more & more of my garden everyday now & that's got me in the mood for spring to arrive & hopefully it does asap.
  18. Really wish that wind would bugger off, cold I don't mind but with added windchill, it's bone chillingly freezing out there! I'm actually looking forward to a slight warm up, there that's done it, probably see a major flip in the 12z models now
  19. Why don't you chill out lol, just because I posted that doesn't mean I have any faith in that outcome happening but it sure is interesting and it is a fact that weather models do tend to want to blast away deep cold way too easily.
  20. Latest UWMET update extract below btw "By next weekend colder and drier conditions may gradually become established once again" "Into late February there is a signal for higher than average pressure to expand westwards leading to an increased chance of snow showers redeveloping in the east, for conditions in the north to become generally quite settled and for unsettled weather in the south, with disruptive snow possible." Copied from the mod thread.
  21. Oh my, what is the gfs & para up to, could any warm up be short lived! All I say is if it's just going to end up being another showery easterly then it can bugger off, I'd rather have a warm up, on the other hand maybe I'm up for another cold & snow chase lol. The met office update later will make interesting reading.
