  1. Are we going to get lucky & experience thunderstorms on the first day of bst, possibly looking at the radar.
  2. Met office app has taken away my light snow shower at 8pm tonight, not happy lol Who knows what will happen though, some in the region are bound to get lucky & see snow falling at least.
  3. Don't like the mention of possibly heavy rain into parts of the south, classic 80s battleground scenarios always delivered down here in the west county, not so much anymore though. Would love a repeat of Dec 81 with multiple snowfall events as low pressure systems passed just to the south.
  4. I'm 51 & I can remember a lot of snow as a kid even living in the south West of the uk, from my experience winters were better back then compared to nowadays sadly.
  5. Well if I knew what I was looking at I probably would but seeing as I don't I stick to reading what others are saying.
  6. So which is it then folks, two posts 1 minute apart, one says there's no movement at all from the gfs towards the ecm solution, the other posts says there is, you can't both be correct!
  7. What a wind up this cold spell has been snow wise, Thursdays low came in too far south after being forecast earlier in the week to be snow here & then the low coming in later today into tomorrow was originally forecast to have the far south in the sweet spot. Here's to the next chase which might not be too far off.
  8. Not been gaming on my pc since this heat started, with the cpu running around 70c & the gpu around 65c you can literally see the air temp rising steadily in the room & it's 30c in here with it off!.
  9. Honestly can't wait for it to cool off, weather like this just makes my hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) a million times worse, I feel sorry for everyone who suffers from that horrible condition!
  10. If that huge area of rain & storms is what the yellow warning over is for then they need to adjust that way further north east than they have it at the moment! Or is there more developments to the south east of us due later?
  11. At this time of year with the short nights it's not uncommon to see them out around that time, if you ever see one moving slowly, looking lethargic or just sat out in the open not moving at that time of the evening at this time of year then it's probably in trouble & needs help. I took one of my visitors to my local wildlife rescue a few weeks back
  12. Looks like part of our region is in for heavy rain/possible storms tonight going by the warning & checking the radar prediction for later on. God I hope it does pour down, desperately need the rain, had a hedgehog drinking for 10 long minutes from one of the many shallow bowls of water I leave out in the garden the other night, poor thing was so thirsty!
  13. Wish it would turn unsettled, so many hedgehogs arriving at rescues severely dehydrated & starving the ground is baked & rock hard preventing them from foraging for a lot of what they eat :( We're supposed to be a nation of animal lovers but I don't think the majority of people even think about leaving shallow bowls of water out in both front & back gardens for wildlife in long dry spells like we're currently experiencing.
  14. Absolutely horrid out there now, still feels freezing cold and raining, I'm honestly looking forward to the 10c forecast tomorrow.
  15. Well some posts in the mod thread over the past week or so didn't age well, those saying it would be cold rain or sleet, full on snow here at sea level just a few miles from the Bristol channel.
