I was surprised to see light snow falling for a while at my works yard in NE Doncaster when I arrived, nothing back home in Sheffield, hopefully things will adjust a bit and a few of us will get in on the action that perhaps weren't expecting to.

A little dusting here too in South East Sheffield, sticking to all surfaces after a very crisp frost earlier in the night

I've been eagerly following the mad thread the last few days and for a change it seems things are either improving, better synoptics, or dare I say it the models are converging on an almost agreement, as opposed to the usual 'ones out on its own' I'll be content with dry crisp days and frost but then again I'm fed up of wading through slop on construction sites I do feel that we might yet be radar watching though later in the week

Currently snowing moderately here , sadly hearing the constant drip of thaw whilst watching the flakes come down, if only it had been 4 weeks prior

Light snow here small flakes not very intense but I expected sleet and maybe a bit of snow in heavier bursts , just gonna take the dog out to see what things are like

Some great photos posted, best event in a while side roads and even some busier routes look dicey, thankfully a snow day for me after cleaning off my van in anticipation of driving over to Hull my work conceded it's probably not going to happen in a decent time scale. Absolutely belting it down here. Measured 15 cm half an hour ago however probably gone up already. I hope my dog is ready for plenty of walking .

Currently in central Bradford, flake size has improved but temp of 1 degree, accumulating on existing cover nicely, but not sticking on paths or roads, noted large amount of gritters out on the roads, so I can't see them gritting that much if they're not expecting a decent event

Firstly good luck to all of our regional members left home at Aston to 1 degrees, slight cover from last night intact and very light snow, enjoyed a drive via Woolley across to Holmfirth and eventually Slaithwaite for work purposes, and it seemed to be intensifying a little, though probably as much to do with altitude, but definitely seems to be picking up, currently according to the weather station here -0.5
Hopefully get through the day and home to enjoy the spectacle later

Enjoyed a long day at work visiting sites, really demonstrated how hit and miss the snow was over these last few days, it really seemed literally just a mile or two and from grey to white in snow terms, Doncaster, Tankersley, York, knaresborough and finally Skipton all different, sad to see sublimation was in effect, as it certainly wasn't warm today. took the opportunity to get a couple of snaps near Skipton

I've just driven from work near Thorne down the M18 home in the best shower of this cold spell, 1.5c down to -1 at home in the precipitation better flake size and really heavy reducing visibility through Thurcroft ,turned everything white very quickly, if only we'd had more like those.
-
Afternoon all, I was in theory working on a job in Barton upon Humber today, as a few other members said yesterday definitely a better event over here to home, just been parked in a decent intense shower with modest flakes, decent covering too.
-
Probably gibberish but looking further out off the East coast the precipitation does look to be intensifying and combining into more organised bands/streamers.whether they will come across to affect us is a different matter

That was a short day anyway got to Newark on the A1 work rings and bins the day saw a snow plough/gritter combo patrolling though in a heavier burst the outside lane rapidly covered, at least I can radar watch now instead of being stuck on the M11 in theory working up at Crossgates/Shadwell area.
-
Morning all, slight dusting here too, and without measuring I'd guess around 2cm, fingers crossed for us all to see more intensity in the next 12-24hrs and get decent coverings I'm heading down the A1 very soon, I'll hopefully see what's really happening in the SE

Well tomorrow I may be able to first hand experience the treacherous conditions and gridlock of the south east down at Stansted airport for 8am ish then Wade through to Norwich afterwards and back up to Doncaster via south Lincolnshire etc bloody hoping enough falls up here for work to think twice about sending me down there else it'll be a long day...though I might get a few photo opportunities

Sleeting here now just south east of Rotherham, though these bloody led lamposts just aren't as good for flake spotting

Tick tock tick tock, this is agonising like waiting for food in a busy restaurant, just hope it comes down thoroughly before Monday around here, I'm supposed to be off to both Norwich and Stansted for work and unless it's clear cut obvious I'll be on that perilous trip in my van the joys of construction...

Well after using the old car roof as a level we got 7cm here, though sleety drizzle now on the way in to Sheff, A57 down to parkway crawling along

Currently in Halifax after driving up from home for work and very fine snow coming down lightly, then driving to Birkenshaw trying to get the most prone locations done before people start flapping in their cars over it
