To be fair that sounds like a good point. There are some huge cities that are likely to see 75 mph plus winds if the organisation is to put those into the Red warning i would thought takes some discussions and time.
Latest ECm has the highest winds close to swansea reaching just below 100mph everywhere else in england over at least 60 mph this is the north of england . Midlands south and Northwest at least 70-75mph
Just taking one chart in isolation living in the middle of England i dont think i have seen a chart with such high winds being shown i have trouble with the coloured matrix but that must be close to 90mph for around here
really? according to the ukmo Shropshire etc could be in the purople zone ( winds over 75mph) for nearly 7 hours. anywhere in England is at risk of severe disruption
Can someone give me the heads up on the criteria of a red warning?. I assume it wont be all about windspeeds. Would 80mph wind gusts in high populated areas be classed more of a risk than 90-100mph winds in less densly populated areas
