Feel like I’ve been robbed.  Have been desperately waiting all day for the cooler air. Just over an hour of cloud now and its no cooler, still at 31.7c.

Yep sky looks like it wants to do something but zilch

Dont blame you! We were there in May for 2 weeks and popping back for a week in October.

Crazy, within 10 mins of my last post we've jumped up to 32c. Max today is meant to be 33c here, so guess we'll flatline now.

Not sure bris I think you have a bit to go yet before the cold front moves in

Up to 35C here and still OK for my usual lunchtime walk, low humidity is making this a cracking hot spell.

Also pleased to note that, despite the hysterical postings on social media from the under 35 yr olds about the heat, I didnt die after i went out my front door 🤣

Yep low humidity really making this much more bearable. Pleasant intact

Reading  about it is not exactly the same as living though it,is  it.No schools were closed like they would be now,my primary school I was at,did not have a single day called off we even did sports day, heaven forbid.😃 This went on for weeks on end,no great fuss made, people still went to work,no stupid common sense warnings of drink more wear a hat,you could die if you go out etc,.

Everyone just enjoyed it without all these stupid dramatic warnings we get now.Give me a break.

This country  has gone to ruin now,

I mUst admit  i am at a loss why schools etc close   i understand its going to get hot  but surely they are safer in a school  mostly old large buildings then staying at home probably running out in the streets etc.   winter is the same  a couple inches of snow and they are closed   anyway  it is what it is  currenly close to 30c here

40C is more than bearable if you can sit in a shady place, have lots of fluids and don't need to exert yourself physically.

The above is not the case for the majority though.

It's more factory workers foundry workers. For me. No way can they work in that heat. Also add construction to that list

GFS 06Z ...  these figures are so ridiculous, I actually feel a bit sick. Well above 40C next Tuesday.

Yep pointless looking at specific areas as the models could be a few hours out on how the highest uppers move across the country. But multiple locations will smash the old record. Going on the GFS

35C on Monday and 38C on Tuesday before the breakdown moves in overnight.

As I said earlier, I do hope we see that timeline not just constantly shift later, I'd like to see that come in to a landing zone!

With that being said for the first time pretty much all the main models have a very hot Monday and most are very hot on Tuesday as well.

Weather us as it a tad higher. Although whats 1 degree  here or there. Night time temps are insane

I assume that would suggest, even as an outside chance, that 40C is possible given the 'perfect' setup from this 12z ECM operational. Normally we add on a couple for ECM, don't we?

Yep and if course take into account major cities are a heat trap. That run is about as extreme as is possible on this isle
