I agree most music is derived from others but what im trying to say is its the culture that goes with it. maybe its because time as moved on rapidly over the years you no longer switch on the TV and see shows such as the Word or even saturday morning kids programmes that push the music scene Fads regarding Music happened all the time years ago from bros fans wearing Bottle tops on their shoes to people nicking VW signs off the front of cars to pay homage to the Beastie Boys. People wearing dark clothes and dying their hair Black to look like Robert Smith I just dont see that anymore Maybe the early 90s was the last of that type maybe times move on but from my experience being part of a scene is something i can look back on with relish i just think kids now are missing out.

Of course its not just the type of music but its the culture and fashion that goes with it. Just look back through history From the teddy Boys to the Mods and Rockers to the punks The new Romantic era into the Rave scene Then Indy. all of those had mass following of the young millions of kids all dressed up in the fashion listened to the music it was a way of life. Then it just stopped I can look back at my Youth and know i was part of a scene not just just music wise but fashion and cultural fashion wise. Millions of Kids Raving (until it was banned) just like in the 60s and 70s. 80s

But Drill music is just derived from Hip Hop the only difference is a slightly different beat and lyrics that are concentrated more on violence. there really isnt much difference to what NWA and Public enemy were doing many years previous. Its like saying Trance Handbag and Jungle are new genres of music when infact they are just the offspring of Rave Music. I think what Mushy is getting at is that thereis or has been nothing in the past few decades that have brought a whole generation together a new sound that has influenced the young Infact the last time i think that happened was in the 90s with the birth of Brit Pop

Never did I think that Eurovision could bring an exciting take on a specific genre of music this year that may change it probably won't win but I've just heard the iceland entry it's dance techno gothic like music with a political dystopian message and some different and novel stage wear the late 80s in some guise could be back

Perhaps a good way of looking at things as highlighted in this piece. New and relevant music is till possible. ( if anyone is wondering what the ref to 88 is its the second summer of love) It is important to remember that 88 didn’t emerge out of nowhere -- it was, like punk, like the hippy movement, like dadaism or surrealism or the majority of cultural movements in the history of humankind -- an oppositional thing. A reaction. It stemmed from the drudgery of the tailend of Thatcher’s Britain and a desperate unconscious need to disconnect from reality, weekend after weekend. It offered a way of life, outside of conventionality. That way of life is still possible. Not, perhaps, in the way it was when the world was shaped like a mitsubishi and everyone held hands as Voodoo Ray became the national anthem. But things change, clubs change, and we need to change with them. The acceptance and openness of rave culture at its very best still exists; its just been forced to hide underground where it came from. At vogue balls and club music parties, in record shops and on catwalks, you’ll find, if you’re willing to look and listen hard enough. It nods to 88, but doesn’t swallow it whole. “Concentrate on the here and now,” Kitson says. “Referencing the past doesn't mean it has to be retro.” This summer, do yourself a favour. Do not perpetuate the myth that nothing has been good since Terry Farley was in short trousers and the Berlin Wall was still erect. Do not believe everything you hear about what happens when 200,000 people danced for days on end in fields. Look around you and take stock of what is happening here in the now.

Im sure there may other music, genres out there that isnt in the mass market but from a oldish man looking in there certainly dosent seem the variety there once was. Maybe thats due to most music being invented already and any music after is just another variation of the theme. Must admit as a young and a little bit wayward 14 year old ( 1990) the feeling of hearing Altern8 for the first time will stay with me forever Hopefully the kids of today still get that feeling when they hear Edd Sheeran

Not sure if this is classed as snowflakes however should a country really apologise for something done over 500 years ago. The mexicans think so. better get our apologies ready then. may take sometime. https://news.sky.com/story/mexican-president-asks-spain-and-pope-to-apologise-for-conquest-500-years-ago-11675497

From the start of the game there did seem to be alot of noise when ODI had the ball its always difficult to tell though whilst watching on the tv anyway 2 games gone 10 goals scored cant be bad
  12. Interesting financial losses last season of some championship sides just shows if you dont reach the promised land then problems will arise Villa will struggle if they dont go up this season.

If only it were that easy. If you have experienced something and know first hand then you get some person who believes they know whats best because they have attended a six week course then its difficult to keep ones cool However ive always maintained that i would not say anything on social media that i wouldnt say to any ones face if you stick by that you cant go far wrong I even asked to meet the women at her charity explain how most of the things she said was way off beam next thing i know i have a notification from Twitter saying i have been placed under restriction. Guess its one way of stopping a conversation.

I am proud of getting banned the person was talking rubbish about people who have drug habits not getting the deserved respect how they should be reunited with their children and how society should give them a second chance i told her a few home truths some if not most she didnt like . The irony being i was told via twitter that i was directly focusing on a protected section of the public the same section that i came from. Not to worry only 10 days left to wait

Ha Ha i was banned from Twitter for speaking my mind and i can look in the mirror with apparent ease. My point being is that the laws for twitter are one sided in the extreme the hateful conduct policy is only protecting those of a (in their words) a protected demographic. what ever that is, everyone else is fair game i can get banned from twitter for saying things against a group of people (who twitter deems protected) but i can say it against others its a two tier system

Indeed Twitters updated policy. We recognise that if people experience abuse on Twitter, it can jeopardize their ability to express themselves. Research has shown that some groups of people are disproportionately targeted with abuse online. This includes; women, people of color, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual individuals, marginalized and historically underrepresented communities. For those who identity with multiple underrepresented groups, We are committed to combating abuse motivated by hatred, prejudice or intolerance, particularly abuse that seeks to silence the voices of those who have been historically marginalized. For this reason, we prohibit behavior that targets individuals with abuse based on protected category. So many categories i have no idea what some are

What? of course its wrong. call be old fashioned but surely in a place of education instead of going off in a hissy fit and white washing something thats over 100 years old surely it would be better to disect the poem look at it from a colonial point of view a time were this country was different. maybe even leave the poem and on the next wall write down the poems that were realised at the same time lampooning the poem, There were loads at the time "Black Man Burden" being one then you compare the two have conversations, But no lets white wash history put our fingers in our ears and go to our safe space.

My particular favourite was the painting over of Kiplings Poem in Manchester University. An area that should be a hotbed of debate whitewashed due to its supposed demeaning language of Black folk.
