Is there actually any real evidence that heights will rise over Greenland?, all I see at this minute is speculation and 1 chart showing heights going to Greenland @ 10 days away. Meto still seem confident of a SWerly type after this HP dominated spell, granted Ian F did state yesterday that there were a few ensembles going for a Northerly but I think we will need a lot more evidence to get even a little bit excited.

This afternoons GFS and UKMO all point to a stagnant spell of weather next week. Although it may be nice and sunny and pleasant in a select few places for anyone that likes interesting weather then next week will be as boring as it gets.

There is a weak front moving in from the East tonight, probably what they are referring to.

Quite clearly a lot of scatter on the 06z ens from the 27th/28th onwards. Maybe some of the colder ensembles show HP in Greenland ( I can't be bothered to look lol). I think despite the scatter my opinion is that the HP will sit over us or just to the West of us ala ECM and GFS until at least the end of next week, unfortunately I do not see the HP setting up over Greenland.

Thanks for that. Cloud will be location specific as for my area Thame (30 miles North West of London) it shows sunny intervals although still not very warm, but yes it does help give a rough idea. but ultimately depends where the high ends up.

Yeah that's why I made a point of stating in any sunshine. Where do I get this how much cloud info from that you seem to be privy to?

The latest 15 day T2M for Birmingham suggest temps not rising into double figures. I guess you could expect for the temps to be 1 or 2c higher the further South you go, so possibly pushing double figures there. Should feel quite pleasant in any sunshine and light winds were the ECM to verify.

ECM wants to usher in Spring next week. Pretty much the same as the 12z run.

I predict the HP will get to Greenland in April when no one really wants it there by then

That high is like a big fat droopy banana, i was gonna describe it as something else but there are children on here lol. I have a feeling the only way that high is going is South. I would love some retrogression but its not just being modelled.

Certainly an upgrade for snow this weekend from the UKMO and GFS. Would like to see ECM upgrade too and hold the general theme for 2-3 more days before I start believing. Still its not boring at the moment is it

GFS ramps up the precip for Saturday. If we are gonna get any sig snow then Sat an Sun will be the days it happens I feel.

IMO i cannot see any difference between yesterdays and todays UKMO upto T72 - It certainly isn't no upgrade to heavy snow that's for sure. I need some rose tinted glasses by the looks of it.

I think that it is fair that if the METO is due criticism then no one should be chastised or have there posts removed for doing so (which i feel happens from time to time on here), like wise it is fair to praise them when praise is due. A very well respected and knowledgeable weather man chooses to post on here so criticism, praise, intelligent and idiotic questions are going to be thrown at him from time to time, but that is par of the course if you enter the public domain such as this. They shouldn't be wrapped in cotton wool and kept back from us "peasants" so to speak. Well if the UKMO anaylsis rings true and the high sinks South then us soft Southerners can perhaps expect a fairly mild/warm start to spring (once this cold spell is out the way). Then all you Northerners can moan at us again for IMBY warmth comments - by the way only joking so don't take offence

Jeez it's only the weather. Some suicide notes are probably not as extreme as that . If you accept this model watching and model interpretation as a bit of fun then you wouldn't get so stressed, it's not life or death
