  1. I was going to take the A249 over $etling Hill to get to the M20 but so glad I didn’t. I would think large chunks of Kent are getting pretty bad now on the roads so if you have to drive take a blanket etc just in case. All sounds a bit dramatic for us in the UK but it’s no joke breaking down or stuck in traffic in these conditions.
  2. Just drove back from Whitstable to Lee, SE12, up the M2/A2 and it was an interesting drive to say the least. Usual idiots going past me at 70mph in Fiestas and similar and it was snowing quite heavy plus icy and slippery. I’m driving a 4x4 Landrover but you can’t defy the laws of physics! Snowing quite heavily in SE12 and I’m happy to be home as the M2/A2 must be a dangerous road by now.
  3. Forecast for Where I am now, Whitstable, is heavy snow from 9pm tonight right through till tomorrow morning. That can’t be true - could it?
  4. Just started - a few flags fluttering past the lamppost outside in Whitstable.
  5. I left south east London for Whitstable an hour ago. Nothing in SE12 , anothing down the M2 and nothing in Whitstable as yet.
  6. That was a wonderful rain event here in SE12. Never really got going so onward and upward until the next time.....
  7. Our boiler packed up a week ago so we’ve been pretty cold since then with only borrowed oil radiators to keep warm. New boiler gets installed today and can’t wait. Why do boilers never break down in the summer?
  8. Heavy rain and rolling thunder in Greenwich Park just as I’m walking the dog.
  9. Well, that was fun for about the last hour! Quite a show for South East London and even now it’s just rolling away into the North East distance with rolling thunder and the odd flash of lightening.
  10. Just like confetti here and been like it most of the day. OutIde chairs and tables covered up no roads or pathways. Is it supposed to pick up overnight?
  11. I have to drive from South East London to Deal and back today leaving around 11am and heading home at 3pm. Anybody know what the A2 and M20 are like at the moment. Will this be disruptive snow this afternoon? Many thnks, terry
  12. My daughter is trying to get Home to Cheltenham from central London in spite of dire warnings from me. Have not heard from her for a couple of hours so don’t know if she went by train or coach but either way it will be a nightmare I imagine. I expect a phone call in a couple of hours saying”I did it” as if I would be impressed. Response could be “Idiot”. Hope she is OK.
  13. Blimey, I could hit a few golf shorts from my house which would land in Eltham but nothing here is Lee.
  14. Snow in Eltham that’s heavy! I’m in Lee right on the very edge of the snow line and can just about detect some dandruff falling. Things can only get better ( who sand that )?
  15. I was just about to drive to Deal from Lee, Se12,but the video of the A2 just convinced me it’s not a good idea even in a 4 x 4. Many thanks for posting it.
  16. The forecast says the wind will change to an Easterly as of now. Is that going to happen as it does not look like it?
  17. Tom, you know you can order your wicker baskets and collect from Sainsburys at Lee. Save you a journey. terry
  18. Nothing here yet. I’ve notuced any cars passing by are being driven very gingerly.
  19. TomSE12, The modern MRI scanning machines are much better than the older ones. I had one recently and, like you, was not looking forward to being cooped, again, for 30mins or so but was pleasantly surprised as I had plenty of room and none of that claustrophobic feeling. The MRI operators continually chat and check on you and can see you through the glass partition all the time. So don’t worry - you’ll probably fall asleep dreaming of snow........ good luck, Terry
