It will be utter carnage in mod thread from 3.00pm today..06z is on its own, but is refusing to UK, Ec way, proper nail biting later. I think dry January has also left the building.. Oh my if the GFS gets this right. Satellite images of the green UK will be pure white..

The mood swings in the MOD thread a hilarious. On a high with the 06z GFS, after the 00z downer, what mood will the 12z runs bring?
I guess it's hurts harder those in our region when the models are showing a return to milder on the horizon, when many of us have had no snow, particularly if the coming week fails to deliver.
What a roller coaster ehhh Nick!!

Blimey if the 18z comes off then..do not feel down about no snow at the moment.. Jesus. Next week will be interesting to say the least.

Wow, it's the 30th of December!!! . I think some of us just need to calm down. We've lost a battle with the snow but not the war. Plenty of time yet, trends are still there..and it's still cold. Tbh if we did have 10,15 or even 20 cms of snowfall..what we do with it right now, especially after what we have been told today..it's been an enormous, unprecedented year..and ultimately mentally draining, so we all cling to that one thing that puts a smile on all our faces..like I said lost a battle not a war..plenty of more days to go for this winter..and maybe a sting is inline further down for a much better event or even events of the white gold.
Take care peeps..

Terrible forecast didn’t even go that far .
It's never easy getting to where need to be, but as Nick F posted prior few more runs before confidence is there.. Everything we need is pretty much there feed wise. Output is pretty mouth watering..

I have not posted in here for a long while due to a medical condition now slowly under control. However I am struggling to see what the dissatisfied issue is with some..right now we are are seeing, if I am correct some of the best, infact tastiest output in a very long while..we are literally just walking through the start of meteorological winter..good timing, definitely!. Epic post by snow king..and the likes of Scott and some others all telling what's very very possible. It's been an unprecedented year all-round and understandably emotions are high, let's enjoy this lovely output. It's only just started...once I get back into the swing of things I can post more with charts..and data. Enjoy.!!!

I am going to hold back my excitement regarding the upcoming called spell excellent models today how ever I am not falling or buying into it until the Met office is on board.
Why hold back..! This is what the whole model thread is about. If there is away winter can get there its starting to show now, like most have said it's long overdue. Now the fun really starts, early days granted..but seasonal metorogicaly speaking pretty impressive.

While I usually agree with that statement, I would say anything up until mid December is up in the air. A cold winter could still happen from that point on.
1984/85, 85/86 and 86/87 all had fairly mild spells during November and December, then the cold came during or after Christmas.
2009, and 10, along with 12 and 17 winters did seem to produce some chilly weather before late November.
Wow, checked I'm for winter..2009 I'm pretty sure from memory Mr Holmes comments we're, not much posting here, We have the Daddy of all easterlies about to begin..as for chilly.. Minus 12 plus, plenty of snow..Thames streamer..2010 alot of snow and sub zero.

So tomorrow, the fun starts and sets the theme for the rest of the week. Thursday/ Friday look tasty for heavier snowfall and lets see where our winter train keeps going. Admit ! "yes" not been a fruitful Winter so far and what a roller coaster with prozac for many getting of the ride....but ! its not over by along shot and just getting interesting.

I just to add to my post above (almost as if I'm giving my old sports commentary on The Day Today) that 'Bluearmy' has taken up the cold batten and refuses to lose.
Fair play to BA, Dog with bone springs to mind.
