Amazed how quiet it is in here! Appreciate there’s uncertainty but there’s a chance. ️
Very much a chance' infact I would say many chances before this second half of Winter is over

Looks like the MAD thread is in serious need of The Samaritans tonight. Talk about winding each other up into a frenzy only to crash and burn!
Lol' Cant keep up in there. Definitely the case some searching for a Winter to excell' 1947*63*78*81*2009 2010 and 2018' probably missed a couple but you get the idea.

Just a quick one from me before I go out on the lash for my 50th. It's still a few days away but it has to be done on the Saturday before lol . Fantastic output on the 12z runs. This is getting really exciting now...... Ecm will come to it's senses I'm sure . Keep those new year's wishes of love and peace for everybody in your hearts. It really is a messed up world and it needs that more than ever at the moment ❤❤
Happy 50th. Enjoy

Well' I know some are still looking for the day after tomorrow lol' but what we are viewing now' yesterday and almost certainly tomorrow is nothing short of winter bliss. Especially when only up until now Winter has been in utter limbo. To be blessed finally with output representing previous historical bad long Cold winter havens is something to be very excited about. After all that's why we are all here.
The cold is about to start feeding in... enjoy the ride folks.

Definitely a period of boo weather this week and the weekend. Few lows to deal with. Hopefully something more akin to seasonal will be on offer mid month onwards. Fingers crossed we all will see and hear hints of this come the end of the week.

Beautiful crisp start to our first day of Winter. Roads and pavements twinkle from a hard frost.
Looking nice and chilly for the next 2 to 4 days. Gfs, ukmo showing the Atlantic aka pest from the west winning out from Tuesday, although ecm has other ideas.
Either way great start to Winter.Let's see what the second shot of cold injection brings around 10 days time or will it all change again on the runs later today.
Enjoy your day folks.

We can't discount the cold losing out so quickly just yet...Yes the clustering as trended less cold but we still have colder runs being retained. This out towards day 8... im gonna make a punt here that the block towards the NE is being underrated...im not convinced any milder interlude is gonna be long lived...more drama to follow in the days ahead.
I'm with you all the way on your comments Matt. You only started the new thread yesterday and we are touching 40 pages already, Something in the air !!! Folks how many times do we go through this every winter. To be honest whats on the table now is not to shabby at all. Yes there probably will be a mild interlude but look at the cold around us and flooding down. It may receed for few days a week I'd say..but then we can more than likely get the classic reloading second shot! Our first good cold spell is now upon us and there could be a few decent surprises incoming along with that great official start to Winter...enjoy the ride.

Hello all. Definitely much cooler today. Chilly night to come. Best test the heating.

Well from this mornings warnings, if 60 minutes of light rain is considered a weather warning it's pretty bad . No fruition of any sorts storm wise.

Good morning all, very much calm before the storms today. Listening to the weather just now..pretty much all of us getting storms from lunchtime onwards. Torrential rain, strong wind bursts and the possibility of damaging hail was mentioned too. Look forward to all the pics later.

Definitely feel the chill tonight. Quite chilly

Well temps at 7c here now and rain. Very unfortunate we could not get the full effect of the ssw on this event. I guess being the uk, we just don't have the land mass like the states and Europe so we are open to many mobile patterns and not forgetting that all famous jet stream, our main driver. We are definitely overdue a sustained winter event maybe winter 23/24 will be the one.

So funny seeing all these "coverings". Is this really how snow starved we've all become?
Sadly Yes lol, getting a belter of snow fest requires so much to fall in place. Im banking this one

Was hoping to see improvements on the Met Office app for tonight/tomorrow but it's pretty poor tbh. 2 hrs of snow following 5 hrs of rain/sleet. As ever it takes a lot to go right in this corner of Kent and without an easterly component the odds are not looking too promising
Ignore the app, snow fall is probably the hardest precip to predict..it is unpredictable imo and can fall when sypnotics suggest different.
