  1. Funny how this topic only ever gets brought up when people don't get the snow they wanted. Think how many thousands of forecasts a year they put out, the majority of which are accurate, only for some people to slate them when they get the minority wrong.
  2. Cor. Blimey. Very heavy fine snow in Wembley. It's like a baby February 2nd - a little mini streamer all of our own!
  3. Know exactly how you feel mate, but we had out turn last February. Also it is only weather...
  4. fairly heavy snow here. Sting in the tail? probably not.
  5. Just had a brief burst of fairly heavy snow in Wembley, huge flakes. Heaviest here since Wednesday.
  6. I'm taking the Countrytracks forecast with a massive pinch of salt, if theres any left. They got it pretty wrong last week, nothing to say they'll get it right this week. Personally, I think areas such as Wales, the West Country and parts of the midlands are going to get hammered midweek, can't see much here.
  7. I'm so frustrated with this weather. I really want to slate the BBC but I know how hard it is to forecast snow. But what annoys me is the sheer relentlessness of their incorrect forecasts. Still forcasting up to 5cm for London is just plain wrong! I might be proved wrong myself, but I doubt it. It's been a fantastic cold spell for the UK in general but, for London, it's hard not to think what might have been.
  8. Well we officially have light snow here. And I'm officially confused.
  9. Flakes in the wind here. It's trying. Would if it could etc
  10. There's nothing quite like the disappointment of not getting forcasted snow...I guess only people who love snow understand the pain! Hey ho, more important things in life than the weather, and there will be plenty more chances this winter!!
  11. Either youre being ironic or that's quite a pointless post...
  12. If it's more than the 8 semi-melted cms in my back garden, then no
  13. 23cm?? That's not fair, you can't have all that! Give it back. Now.
  14. I don't mean to sound rude mate, but the Croydon Borough must have its own micro-climate. Even if we do get snow, and I'm sure we will do tomorrow, it is unlikely to be in any way 'severe'. Unless what is termed 'severe' nowadays actually means 'a bit on the heavy side'
  15. BBC and Sky have been wrong for London everyday since Wednesday.
  16. You're possibly the most optimistic Londoner on here with regards to snow mate - I wish I shared it!!!
  17. I'm still amazed at the variation in snow amounts between here and outer London. Here we have 3 inches, in Barnet theres 5, and in Watford (ok, not technically London but close) theres 6!!
  18. I personally don't understand why Francis Wilson is so rated as a forcaster. I can remember literally countless times when his forecasts have hyped up snow events and we've had bugger all.
  19. I love how this thread is divided neatly into two groups: 1- Those in parts of Kent and Essex that are up to their knees in crisp, powdery, glorious magical snow 2- Everyone else I'm bored of being in the second group now.
  20. The words 'final nail in the coffin' spring to mine. I can't help but think back to Thursday's BBC London forecast: Snow showers Thursday, snow showers Friday, snow showers Saturday, heavy snow Sunday. We've had two flurries.
  21. Impossible to say at the moment, but I wouldn't bother looking past tonight/tomorrow if I were you, during which time we're supposedly meant to see a couple of cms, perhaps a tad more.
