  1. Dreich morning in downtown Falkirk this morning, but the fog in Callendar Park last night was very atmospheric, even if i spent most of the walk worrying about location of my dogs!
  2. Only the very brave out in Falkirk this morning. All side-streets completely choked up with drifts of snow
  3. There was a red warning for snow, back on Sunday December 19th 2010 - proof! But they're saying this is a 'new system' so perhaps that was the previous system
  4. Callendar Park flats in Falkirk, earlier on between showers. No-one out at all, except me and the dogs. Amazing dry cold, creaky snow, felt almost alpine.
  5. Pretty intense shower on A9 in Perthshire. Chose wrong day to drive daughter back to uni Aberdeen!
  6. Spectacularly bad timing for the recycling bin collection around us - every bin in the street on its side, contents whirling everywhere - volleys of cans rattling down the street. I can't help wondering if our neighbours hadn't quite heard the forecast when they dutifully put their blue bins out before going to bed. I'm feeling smug because I prevented my OH putting ours out, but makes not much difference since we've got all of the neighbours' festive wrapping paper plastered around the axles of our cars now anyway... . Feeling a bit sorry for the bin-men tomorrow, but at least everyone's getting an extra wet Christmas card delivery to cheer up depressing January ;-)...
  7. BFT - outside Howgate. People were stuck near the old hospital upwards of thirty minutes. Including a gritter :-)
  8. I'm delurking to warn that Falkirk town centre is totally at a standstill and has been for nearly an hour. Three inches of compacted snow / slush and a layer of water have made the roads - literally - like skating rinks. Several accidents, and no-one getting up towards the Braes at all, so far as I can tell. OK, so we've not had any snow to speak of the last two weeks, but the Bairns know how to make the most of a moderate snowfall - and not in a good way!
