    One thing to remember folks - this type of set up may not happen again for years!! Enjoy the moment. A few weeks ago i'd have given a lot just for a few cm's of snow! We now have the prospect of possibly 20cm + !!!

    latest BBC forecast (updated 20 mins ago on website) looks very very good for us Thurs/Friday ! Looks all snow, and we get a fair a mount from two separate fronts associated with that low Fingers crossed it delivers for us!

    Yes, but lady on the lunch time BBC forecast said next week is looking "dry" !! hopefully she sobers up before tomorrows shift!

    I think that's a terrible assessment. How on earth can they say that given the model output!? She should have said, next week is looking bitterly cold with the a strong possibility of snow. The word "dry" will just make her look daft!

    I would love to see this cold come off as much as the next person, BUT, If I had a penny for every time i've seen BOOM turn to GLOOM over the years, i'd have my own chalet in Courchevel and wouldn't need to read this thread! Caution still needed folks

    I spoke to my uncle in Florida yesterday. He's really worried. He lives near Naples (east coast) and can't get away now. The highways are clogged and there's no fuel in the gas stations and water is sold out in the supermarkets It's not just the wind that's so worrying. The storm surge will be like the sea coming into the towns. I have a very bad feeling about this storm, I really fear for a great loss of life and catastrophic destruction

    Perhaps it might start as rain, but it will increasingly turn to snow as the system draws in air from the east

    I was only thinking earlier, if there was a possibility of a collision between the Storm and our cold air. Perhaps the Express will have their snowbomb after all !!
