    Think we got about 1ft in Feb 1996 but was too young too remember, we got about 10cm on 28th December 2000 and 10-15cm with 2-3ft drifts March 2006, thawed quickly though, the rest are in my signature but cant see them on my phone.

    Theres no doubt in my mind that its worse for snow here than it is in the 'snow starved' SE, there guarenteed loads everytime theres a good easterley, were lucky if we manage one light snow shower from an easterley, only have to look at the snow depths ive recorded in past winters in my signature to see how bad it is.

    Surprise surprise, nowt here except a frost, missed all the ppn again looking at the radar, probably would have been rain anyways.

    However although the climate is pants here, i still wouldnt want to live anywhere else in England, would miss the lakes, rivers and coast too much, would hate living in a city.

    Yeh im sure the wind turned to a light WNW and the irish sea just came alive especially further south, can remember someone from St helens reporting thundersnow and very big accumulations, it was hectic in the NW regional thread that night

    I remember being very dissapointed that night, very localised falls up here, only 1cm here but about 5cm only 8 miles north at sea level, the showers were no where near as intense and prolonged as in the south of the region.

    This weather and the forecast is horrific for SAD sufferers especially after such a dull November aswell.

    Nothing but rain and sleet back home but 1-2cm up a fell only a few miles away, settling at about 250M, just started snowing when i got there but turned to sleet/rain in about 30 minutes even right at the top about 450M, low cloud spoiled the views. 20201204_111834.mp4 20201204_111305_1.mp4

    Horrible moderate cold rain here, hope to wake up to some snowy fells though, cant see any more than sleet here.

    Frequent flashes getting brighter and rumbles but its all to the west, would be a fantastic view sat on the beach though, dont have a very good view looking west here unfortunately.

    Serious looking storm heading here and can see flashing againcopious amounts of rain looking likely aswell.

    Was stood in awe looking out the window for about 90 minutes straight, some really close strikes aswell and shotgun thunder, really wasnt expecting it to be that potent. Probably a 1 in 50 year storm for around here id imagine.

    Thats the best thunderstorm ive ever witnessed, by some distance aswell! Constant thunder, flashes every 2 seconds with some nice cg strikes and some monsoon like rain, for about 90 minutes! Absolutely EPIC! Well happy with that.
