    Nice one Tom. I would have loved a Davis, but I wanted the one where the anemometer wasn't part of the ISS... Couldn't justify it! Just moved house, so lots of other things to spend money on first! Maybe I'll upgrade in a few years (if we keep getting cold winters!).

    Same model I had before the removal men trashed it! A Watson W-8681 http://www.amazon.co.uk/W-8681-Wireless-Weather-Station/dp/B001063PXC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328829931&sr=8-1 I found it to be pretty good for the price. Would love a Davis, but couldn't justify spending £700+!

    Well, I must admit, I'm almost at the point of calling it a non-event for here... Radar shows dark pink for me, but it's peeing it down with rain outside... Can't even say it looks sleety... Mullender, could you please bu**er off on a skiing holiday so that we can have some snow here! Cheers!

    Well, good luck everyone! I'll probably stay up until about 01:00... If it's not snowing by then, I think I may as well throw in the towel! Just popped outside and it's raining currently, but sounds like the surrounding areas are starting to get the wintry stuff... Hope it arrives here soon!

    Just as the heavy stuff was about to hit here (according to the NW radar), it all turned to freezing rain! Couldn't write this stuff!

    What?... Seriously... OMG I haven't even looked past Friday yet!!! Will check it out right away! Edit: Checked... Wow! Temperatures are now falling for next week too! Saturday is now looking mega cold!... Met Office max of 5ºc and min of 3ºc on Saturday... NetWeather max of -2ºc and min of -9ºc on Saturday... Hmmmm...

Friday @ 03:00 - Moderate SNOW (0ºc) Friday @ 06:00 - Heavy SNOW (1ºc) Friday @ 09:00 - Moderate SNOW (1ºc) Friday @ 12:00 - Moderate SNOW (1ºc) Friday @ 15:00 - V. Light SNOW (1ºc) Friday @ 18:00 - V. Light SNOW (-2ºc) Ramp, ramp, ramp!

    It's looking good at the moment Mullender!... Fingers crossed nothing changes in the next 24 hours (or if it does that it's an upgrade!)

    I suppose anything is possible, but I've not experienced snow with temps. that high... I take it the dew points and 850's would have to be pretty low though for that?...

    Yeah, the temperature forecasts lately (on Met Office etc.) seem to be a wee bit "overcooked"! Max. temp. in Bath today (Lansdown) was -1ºc... Like you say, it can either be 4ºc and rain, or a few degrees lower with snow... Not 4ºc with snow!... Never known that before! Oh my God... How quiet is the MOD thread?!...

    Ha ha!... Sorry, can't offer advice on the Emmerdale front! So you've already penciled-in a "snow-day" for Friday then?... That's what I like to see... Forward planning! And just to think a few days ago you were telling me you didn't care much for the snow...

    Not such a quick thaw if that turns out to be the case! Fingers (and everything else) firmly crossed! Surprised that NetWeather hasn't even issued a "Watch" yet for the Midlands / South West...

    Met Office has max. temp. of 5ºc for me on Saturday... NetWeather has a max. temp. of 0ºc! Hmmm, slight difference there!... I know which forecast I'm backing!!!

    Very true! I really hope the temps for the weekend are being overcooked though... Highly unlikely at such a short timeframe but we can but wish!

    I wonder whether higher ground will get an all-snow event though... It would also be nice if it stuck around for a day or two... Would be a bummer if it melted before Saturday!
