    Home weather station was showing 39.6c and was shooting up......until I realised someone had gone out and moved sensor which was now in direct sun !! When do the kids go back to school :)

    Freezing rain and now Ice pellets. Temp -3.1c. Everything cased in ice and roads, paths etc. are lethal. A20 just up from here is closed between Charing and Lenham due to blown snow across the road and drifting. Be careful out there !

    Heavier flurry here now. Lovely chunky flakes. Was not expecting anything this afternoon so a nice bonus. Temp continues to fall away slowly. Now down to -3.8c. Nr Charing on north downs, kent

    Been out for a bit of sledging with the kids. Strong wind starting to drift snow. In places drifts were well over knees. A few light flurries whilst out too which was a surprise but radar now showing a few little blobs around Kent ☺ temp falling away Dow.to -3.3c from a 'max' of -2.1c earlier.

    Wonderful sunny day but bitter and wind getting up starting to blow the snow around. Measured 18cm yesterday pm and then another 5cm yesterday evening from a few v heavy showers but nothing since and not expecting anything more at least for today here in mid Kent (nr charing). Temp -2.2c currently. Last night min was around -8c but seen posts suggesting as low as -14c or so in parts of Kent last night.

    No real melt at all here today even in the sunshine this p.m. maxed out at -0.2c around 1pm and down to -0.8c now. No additional snow since late morning but measured level depth of 18cm earlier. Time to make the kids (well for me anyway) an igloo !

    Still chucking it down here (between Charing and Lenham on north downs). Must be nearing 20cm. Great stuff !

    Measured 18cm in garden though needless to say I was quite excited !

    Haven't ventured out yet to properly measure it but I,d say we have 4,5 maybe even 6 flakes in the deeper drifts

    Temp now highest it's been all day. +2.7c Lovely period of heavy snow around 4pm but then just rain. Here's hoping for something overnight

    Heavy chunky snow now here near charing on north downs and just showing signs of settling tho still v wet. Temp falling steadily. Currently 0.9c

    We had rain and a temp at the mighty heights of +2.6c first thing this morning - since then temp gradually lowered during the morning and rain turned to snow. Has been snow for quite a while now, good sized chunky flakes but not laying on any surface. Temp now only at +1.4c. Cant say I saw this 'persistent' snow on the tv forecasts last night. Thought today was supposed to be drier and a tad milder ?

    Decent dusting here at charing settling on all surfaces. only light snow falling and temp at +0.3c

    Had a brief flurry at around 8.30am this morning but nowt since. Temp slowly rising and now at +3.4c

    May have been hearing things I wanted to hear, but thought the lunchtime national BBC forecast said something about a chance of snow for the SE on Thursday - presumably as the low pressure on the continent moved closer to us ? he only made a very quick reference to it but I see a few posts above making similar note. Just to add we've had a couple of very light flurries here this afternoon - decent sized flakes but only a few slowly drifting down. Temp only maxed at +1.6c

    A nice brief little flurry for the last few mins here. Stopped already but nice while it lasted temp +4.5c

    Nice little snow flurry while just out on my bike. Remnants of a few drifts still about and you can still see a bit up on the downs. Temp currently +5.1c

    Not much more than 1.5 - maybe 2 inches here although so hard to tell as has blown around so much. Looks like we were at northern tip of the channel low band last night and just on southern tip of the convective stuff this morning - just hope for some more flurries during the day. Temp only rising very slowly and falls away in any heavier flurries. Currently -0.5c at 10.30am can't see it reaching the +2c as shown on the local BBC tv forecast this morning

    Nice big chunky flakes now. It really is hammering it down. A good covering already..... it was worth the wait.

    You are not that far north east of me in Kent and it only started coming down here with any intensity and consistency in last hour - so it wont take much for it to reach you in Canterbury. Dont give up hope It seemed to take an age for the band to come north of Ashford so here's hoping it moves further north and sticks around for a while.

    Really set in here now. Heavy blowing snow, combination of graupel and larger flakes. Almost a white out at times. Everything going white rapidly and temp continues to fall. Now -1.9c Fabulous stuff !!!!! but just glad I dont have to go out and can watch from a nicw warm room.

    Snow has started falling with much more intensity, more prolonged and starting to cover all surfaces. Really blowing about too. Only really started with any urgency in last half hour. Temp has fallen pretty quickly and currently -1.7c Just hope this keeps going for a while
