I have to go to Bath Hospital tomorrow from Winchester.... Guessing that could be a bad idea!

Mental thunder in camber, East Sussex
-
Snow here again too, v.small flakes
-
The rain band seems to by dying out just west of us, looking at the met office radar
-
Light snow in Bishops Waltham, looks quite wet snow
-
Most recent forecast on BBC News channel @ 10:57 had snow over our area on Sat night/Sunday. Don't thnk it wil be heavy though, mostly flurries I think...
Thanks, after this week events i almost wouldn't mind a break from the snow
-
Has anyone seen a forcast for Sunday/Monday? When i looked this morning BBC had nothing over us, apart from a bit of rain over IOW.
-
Light snow on and off today near fareham. 4 inches in total, which is amazing for down here. I see there is an advanced warning out for Sunday as well. Does anyone know how likely this is, i can't imagine use getting anymore for another 20 years, let alone in 2 days time!
-
I am just to the left of Fareham and Pompey, we have lightish snow now, what is it like that way on? Think you could do really well that way on
-
Got 3-4 inches her in Bishops Waltham, still snowing, but not as much. Can't believe Winchester has so little, it's only 10 miles up the road from me. Hopefully it will get some later
-
I keep feeling nervous about looking out the window in case it has stopped, how sad is that! How is Winchester doing, gotta go there tomorrow?
-
Had Heavy Snow in Bishops Waltham for the last hr i guess. Over 2cms of snow
-
Heavy Snow in Bishops Waltham, a covering already. Will it continue, we shall see. Radar looks ok for now
-
Snow in Bishops Waltham, not heavy and not laying cause of the rain earlier, but it is a start
-
Oh dear. Rain turning to heavy sleet now.
I just heard snow in Winch, if you look at the 4pm radar it looks like the rain is starting to pivot
-
seeing flakes of snow in the rain well step in the right direction lol.
still not optimistic.
Light rain here in Bishops Waltham
-
yep im dissapointed.
the extreme weather alert was a complete failure once again typical met office and typical southcoast crap oh what a let down,
teach me for opening my mouth tell family a big snow event is coming i think i jinxed us.
well i think it might be time to hang up the netweather gloves really cant deal with the hype tried to keep optimistic pointless.
Like you i am not confident, however i have to say none of the warnings are even valid yet. They start from 6pm. I think if we could see a big blob of rain coming in we would all feel better, but i tis something that is going to develop over us almost, if i understand at all!

raining on the isle of wight now
Arghhhh, don't say that
-
First band heading towards the area, right by the coast it probably wil lbe marginal, though in the most heavy parts of the band it'll probably snow right to the coast I'd imagine.
Hope so, but 2 - 3 degrees here (Bishops Waltham) and i have seen a few spots of rain.
-
A few flakes in Winchester i just heard
-
It is probably quiet on here because we live in statistically one of the least snowy parts of the country and we kinda get forgotten about as a region & get lumped in with the SE generally... yet here we are threatened with a major event and the thread is dead, too many let downs in the past, but also a surprise event before xmas to whet the appetite.
Beka - I have my shovel at the ready as I am more than prepared to clear my drive and pathways this time round. I managed to fall over on the ice in December on the path outside my house and not gonna happen this time... having said that how am I supposed to clear the projected 35cm of level snow for my location? There will be nowhere to put it!! LOL
I reckon you have the best chance being in the north of the region. I have friends in Berkshire and they always fair better than us. Those few miles can make all the difference, as demonstarted by basingstoke before Christmas

This is a good little site, temperature there starting to drop http://www.winchesterweather.org.uk/ 1.3 now, was 1.5 earlier

Hi All.
I have been reading these forums since the days of snow watch on the BBC! Great site and have enjoyed reading over the years, not into the tech stuff, but like reading about the possibilities etc.
Had to post something today as it is not very often this sort of thing might happen. I am really worried that temperatures are going to be a little on the high side and I just can't se where all the precip is coming from looking at the radar. I think understandably were are all a little sceptical down here. I am in Bishops Waltham by the way which is between Southampton and Fareham. All the frost has gone from the cars etc, going to be close...

Just a dusting here near Fareham. Looks like we will miss the worst of the next system too. Bit disappointing after all the hope and excitement! Glad some of you further west are getting a good dumping!
