  1. We haven't seen a blizzard like this for a few years! Can't walk outside, it's blinding.
  2. I think we're in the sweet spot here. Feels like last April all over again.
  3. 1.3C here. It's been snowing on and off all day but nothing to show for it. I imagine West Lomond is getting a nice white top up though
  4. Seems Fife caught the lion's share of what little was on offer.
  5. Yep that's the place My pal had to go into Alberta on an errand and couldn't get back home for three days until the mountain pass reopened. 4ft of snow!!! <sobs>
  6. I've got pals in southern BC who have seen 1 metre of snow fall in the last few days, and THIS is the worst that our feeble excuse for a winter can deliver. It's just embarrassing Embarrassing I tell you!!!!
  7. No views to speak of on West Lomond at 9am this morning but the rime on the trig was worth a few snaps The summit was scoured but the east slopes had a good 4 inches of snow. I've seen some beautiful pics of the Cairngorms on Instagram this morning too - lots snow and not a cloud in the sky.
  8. And there's no wind whatsoever. Just the sound of wet flakes hitting wet surfaces. Really weird.
  9. About an inch up in the Lomonds. I feel a dawn ramble is on the cards before it all melts
  10. Hardly anything falling from the sky here but what little there is.....is snow at the moment.
  11. Oh my lord what a perfect day!!! There's little more than dandruff here in the Lomonds but just up the road at Dunkeld it's on another level. A few inches at road level but once you get up into the back-country towards Deuchary Hill there's a uniform six inches of resistance-free powder The summit and its northern aspects are scoured but the southerly aspect of this modest wee lump were loaded. A joy to walk through. As others have said, Scotland was made for days like this. Get it while you can cos soon it'll be gone
  12. I think we had another cm perhaps this morning but it had been blown all over the place. Really nice driving off the hill though cos the snow was that wonderful dry stuff. Headed up into the Ochils this morning as there's much more snow out that way.
  13. You're getting a better share of the showers then we are by the looks of it. I can see the murk to the southwest but we're just out of the firing line.
  14. Truth be told I've been standing here for the past two hours after my finger got stuck.
  15. Still digging myself out this morning.....
  16. Oh....Fife is back on again. And so is....erm.....Leith Edit - Damn my geography! I mean North Berwick
  17. Ah, Fife has now been removed from the Met Office warnings.....which given past experience usually bodes well here
  18. Another pic of the snow clouds over north Fife and Perthshire this morning. It's been quite a while since I've seen clouds as mean looking as those! Someone certainly got a pasting.
  19. So many happy people all of a sudden Lovely covering in the Lomond Hills this morning, and massive black clouds over North Fife and Perthshire.
  20. Blowing a mean 40mph up here just now, gusting to 50. Before Jan 2012 that would have been enough to knock the power out for a day but ever since that 2nd Jan storm the network round here has been made much more resilient.......so the lights aren't even flickering. Got the stove lit just in case though. Hoping you folk in the north & west don't have too tough a time of it!
  21. Woke up to 1cm of slushy snow this morning. Gone now but cold at 2.4C.
