Got down to -8.3 last night here. 2nd coldest night of the winter.
Looking like for the 2nd time in a week we will be too north for snow after already been too far east ealier in the season. The joys of freezing rain. All hopes now for a greenland high to bring a n`eastly or its back to the drawing board for winter 2012\13.
An added note on freezing rain. Didn't it bring Quebec to its knees a few years ago.
Pretty pityfull here. Would be a hugh leap to describe it as a dusting. 3rd time this winter we have been under a meto orange warning for snow and got nowt.
We need a ne wind.
In last 2 mins its suddenly turned to big flakes of snow and quite heavy!
Judging by latest on raintoday the heavier stuff is still over in Galloway!
DP of -5 here now
up to 1.8 here now with moderate to heavy rain but still got 80% of snow cover.
Took a pic from back of house this morning around 10 looking south west towards waskerly
If only the british isles were 50 miles further east we would see so much more snow!
No signs of a proper cold spell within the next few weeks apparently so may have to be happy with brief cold spells!
Looks like the last chance of any more snow from this not so cold cold snap is heading for Holland.
Still got just about all the snow that fell, on the ground with a low of -2.8 last night and now on way down from 0.3
Just been across the frozen snow fields with the dog. Was freezing cold but had to make the most of it as got a horrible feeling this is all we will see this winter.
Cloudy but dry here at minute temp up to -0.4 so the next band should be of snow here and not much daylight left so temps should be on way down.
Whats the chances of tomorrows trough delivering more snow?
-1.2 here with about 3 inches covering and still coming down heavy. Imaging consett is pretty similar as only 4 miles as crow flys and about same height.
5 inches overnight in edinburgh apparently. not a sniff here though
but hold on a minute the other side of the valley has disapeared and thats usually a good sign!
