  1. Bit of a damp squib so far, nowhere near 2 weeks ago. Also seems to be melting despite freezing midday temps.
  2. EURO4 has been bullish for some time for prospects for E Mids. All the apps and BBC downplaying it quite significantly. We shall see!
  3. Good work, SSIB! Unlikely to come this far north but it's not over yet. Nice to see you still around Andy. Looks like your namesake Andy King is heading north on the M1 to us tonight!
  4. Not too bad here in West Notts, about 2-4 cms so far. Scope for this to continue for some time yet!
  5. Looking better for the West than East, definitely. Might just catch a reasonable amount on the western side of the East Midlands. Seems to have shifted a bit further south too.
  6. These are definitely the most promising charts we have seen at this time of year since 2010 - could we be set for a sensational start to winter 17/18? GFS06z op showing the block slightly further north, leading to a trough undercutting from the east.
  7. To be honest I suspect he was comparing the chart to what it could've been i.e. a displaced high further north and west leading to an easterly. And I also would question weather it's really showing "very cold" temperatures for the UK dragging up a S/SW'rly..! Perhaps during night at a push. To me "very cold" would suggest about 10c below average. But I do agree with general consensus that he really should've noticed it was amongst the warmest ensembles.
  8. You may be correct about the sunshine point, but I really don't see his analysis as unreasonable looking solely at that image. And certainly not trolling..! And btw that's not me either before someone suggests it
  9. Considerable settled snow now here in West Notts, up to a few cms. Surprised but happy! At least see snow once this season
  10. Once you've been here once, you always come back for more Might get a quick flurry on Sat morning (I wouldn't worry about Sat night) but then I think it could be a while before another chance of snow. Probably into 2016 when there's a decent chance of a SSW
  11. EURO4 continues to show very litte ppn for our region
  12. They were ramping the snow for the E Midlands on the BBC this morning but I'm not very optimistic - hopefully get a sugar coating though
  13. It wasn't as good this week, but the week before it got it spot on when METO and everyone else were ramping things up. Downgraded just before the event and proved to be correct
  14. EURO4 offers hope for a sprinkling for the east midlands tonight
  15. EURO4 showing more ppn than usual for the Midlands in northerly this weekend, shame it's apparently going to be mostly rain
  16. Rain in a Polar Low? No chance Mr Met man, tbh
  17. Looks like a respite for a while as not much more fuel in the fire for Derby/Nottingham, prospects look decent for later though
  18. Heavy snow in Nottingham and settling I will take a sugar coating, that's more than expected
  19. Can't see anything significant happening now for the Nottingham area, looking at the charts the next realistic chance of anything wintry would be next Monday
  20. Yes, sorry I means to say WNW not NNW. But actually now it is changing to a westerly as you say
  21. That depends on your location of course, probably not good news for the SW of our region though.
  22. Looks like the PPN taking more of a NNW track now?
  23. I haven't been frame watching every run, just thought it's right to mention that so people don't get their hopes up. Hope it's wrong though
  24. NMM 12z also going to break a few hearts with a more northerly track of the ppn now expected.
  25. Euro4 showing accumulation now non-existant for the Midlands
