  1. The Oscar goes to the ECM who has upset everyone this weekend
  2. Went for a spring like walk this morning, so calm 12c and sunny, you would have thought it was April….now clouding up..Wasn’t going to moan today, but fed up with X weather enthusiasts tweeting only just yesterday that we are on for a full on onslaught of cold in a week posting snow charts etc, then the same posters now put ensemble that are complete opposite which are showing none of it …They obviously are just rampers
  3. let’s hope so, but this is like Groundhog Day many posts like this exactly a year ago but alas never happened
  4. Totally agree, as many posters have said, we now even struggle to get an average Christmas new year period temps, 8c is the average for Norfolk and many days over the this period I have had more above than normal…I could even have a record Christmas Eve… Now getting fed up where posters keep saying cold is not far away, that’s funny because they are the same posters that said this in the summer where heat not far away, did it happen ah no.
  5. Most of the USA and Europe looking to have one of the most above normal temps for Christmas on record I would assume
  6. Unbelievable mild Christmas Eve and Christmas day coming up 14c isn’t out of the question, the worse we can experience this time of year, I’ve been away in May and been freezing…not going to feel Christmas like at all
  7. So currently state of play this part of the world Christmas eve could hit 13c or 14c The day itself 12C or higher if cloud breaks ECM been spot on with this 10 days ago
  8. Yet again the GFS is never the model to follow …ECM has had none of this cold blip for Christmas, in fact we could now see temp as high as 15c come Christmas week, Today 11c blue sky fell like spring if you are out of the wind.
  9. Some X model users are trying to keep the cold coming, this week a boring mild normal run up to Christmas crap, A possible cold Christmas Day apart from that, mild or even very mild into the end of year, possible 14c on some charts today, Definitely gone much quieter on the model thread all gone back into hibernation…until the next chase
  10. Light steady rain here and a temp of 3.2c from a very cold -2 all day yesterday, . apart from the lightest of dusting on Friday morning nothing to note here in mid Norfolk… Showers stayed well to the Far East coast last week, but i always feel having this cold set up early that the North Sea is always way to warm…If it was February I think it may have been another story. Then when the weather pattern does change from the west we never see that transition from Snow to rain happen either.. Now question is where do we go from here .I can’t see any cold next 2 weeks just the normal for the December which may contain some frosty nights , if a break in the cloud happens . Next weekend looking to be complete contrast with temperatures in double figures… It feels like this was a great opportunity in the east that just didn’t happen…….Again!,
  11. Going to be touch and go if we actually get an official Ice day, warm air aloft may ruin it if this arrive before midnight.. It’s been around -2c all day …
  12. Could we see at least 3 named storms next 2 weeks looking at latest charts? Unbelievable turnaround from last year….absolutely no signal for anything settled or cold
  13. Just looking at the next 2 weeks, possible we could see at least 4 more name storms, incredible turnaround from last year, absolutely no signal for anything settled or cold at all
  14. Well , after only posting just yesterday with the charts showing no end to the dry and warm/hot weather into and after mid month, a completely different outlook in a weeks time cool, damp and cloudy weather is back on the cards.. incredible turnaround..Still time for it to change but the jet stream wants to lock back in place just like it has done in July and August..
  15. Well here’s hoping the gfs12 is right and carries this fine weather into 2nd half of September…Would just be ironic if this turned out to be a record breaker like June….Downside on all this come home from work and by 6.30pm the sun has now gone from our garden so goes to show how quickly nights now drawing in…I remember the late September/Oct record in 2011…Had a BBQ on sat 1st Oct 30.8c …Sun went from Garden gone 5, and at 10pm the temperature was still 25c was incredible day….
  16. Some have seem to forgotten that Norfolk and much of Eastern England didn't see the warm June until the 10th. From May we was locked in a NE pattern for 6 weeks of cool damp windy weather .
  17. Sunny start here in Norfolk, but yet again cloud has bubbled up and even some darker clouds come over at times to make it feel that tad cooler when the sun goes behind it...BH weekend looks a shocker for EA and SE if it comes off!...Just would absolutely sums up one of the worst summers here since 2012...No signs of anything settled as we welcome in Autumn , Wet and mild seems to be the general I have given up reading the MO 30 days forecast why they bother??? even their 10 day trend been a shocker this summer. Id be embarrassed to even film it .
  18. I completely agree , very poor summers in the past have brought summer weather In September...many years in the 2000s I took middle of September off and was always a stunner in the East...However definitely can't see it happening this September, lots of incoming lows and yet more cool weather ...What you are absolutely guaranteed is that from November onwards not a sniff of cold will happen and I'm convinced this Winter will be one of the wettest and warmest on record!
  19. Absolutely shocking charts for the next 2 weeks, Max temp around 21C,. Just back from Cornwall and the weather was awful ...the locals said that May and June Absolutely stunning, lots seem to forget that here in the east we had cloud and cool winds for most of May and 9 days of June... I haven't known a summer like this since 2012...Just a tad fed up when some posters say mid August the weather may change , I can't see it happening.. Nights will soon be drawing in quicker and before we know it summer is over...Only hope is September now....
  20. We are also off to Cornwall next Saturday, latest charts for that week looks absolutely shocking, 16c rain and and absolutely no warmth for the whole week and for the rest of July….anyone on here who says it’s 7 days away and can change, is having a laugh lol, we seem stuck in a rut now, it was always going to happen. Gutted it’s happened mid summer and a typical school holidays wash out. Not sure we can compare this to 2012 just yet,but looks to be on par. August apparently looks to see no change either…
  21. Bit of a chilly breeze walking the dog this morning…After some much welcome rain in the last week, All the grass in the parks have gone back to lush green…Its does recover very quickly. Possible more welcome rain Tuesday currently.
  22. Unfortunately we could be seeing 2 weeks of this…Unless a major change happens mid month, we could be on course for a bog standard normal UK July…
  23. I posted yesterday that the summer forecast MO model does not have this set up suggested at all...It would be an epic fail by the MO since the famous BBQ summer Has to be impossible for it to happen...with all this talk that the Atlantic around the west coast is at record warmth, or is this the issue ?
  24. where has this all this come from all of a sudden..? we have been stuck in the same pattern for months, and the 3 month summer forecast has not suggested this outcome at all?
