  1. The change he was referring to was that the snow emphasis was swithing from the south (today) to the north (tomorrow0 Nothing more sinister than that!
  2. No sign of rain here in North Somerset. On the contrary 4 hours of continuous snow so far, good covering & temperatuire dropping slightly from peak of + 1.5. Front has slowed up in last hour & is really producing the goods. Ian
  3. Here in North somerset so much better than forecast. 4 hours of snow so far & good covering. Temperature peaked at + 1.5 at 2 pm but now slowly falling. Looking at the radar the front is now very slow moving so this could go on a while. Ian
  4. Precipitation has just reached J22 of M5 (Highbridge/B.O.S). Falling as wet snow. Temperature +2.5. Ian
  5. Disappointing prospects for our area this morning. None of the "significant drifting" forecast by the MET last night, in fact very little wind and temperatures just above freezing with any light accumulations likely to be wet. Tomorrow downgraded to mostly dry & tuesday marginal. It was fun while it lasted! Ian
  6. Latest radar shows the precipitation in the channel winding itself back northwards with red echos now showing up on the south coast. Mix of rain/sleet/snow being reported in Portsmouth area. Ian
  7. Yes, Oslo already -16 and Moscow -12 by sunday. Ian
  8. Main band of precipitation is sliding north east across dorset & hampshire as can be clearly seen by running the radar sequence over the past few hours. Cant see North Somerset, Bristol or Swindon getting much, if any from this set up. Ian
  9. Heavy shower of snow pellets here at Brent Knoll, Somerset has left a good covering. The radar suggests more to come. Ian
  10. Good covering here in Burnham on Sea & temperature still dropping slowly @ + 1.4.
  11. Here in Burnham on Sea sleet has turned to wet snow & temperature has dropped from +2.5 to +1.5 over the past 2 hours. Its going in the right direction but if the precipitation had arrived 6 hours later as forecast it would have started as snow instead of struggling to settle.
  12. First pulse of moderate snow left a good covering here in Burnham on Sea an hour ago & has been dry since. Temperature steady at +1.5 but no major thaw. One of those situations where Bristol may do well whilst Zummerzet sees any snow turn to rain (assuming there is more to come). Ian
  13. Snow flurries have turned heavier here in Burnham on sea, in the past hour & most of it settling although at +0.5 not much margin. Ian
