By my husband's reckoning we've got nearly 2cm already on the car and snowing fast and steady some 50p ones coming down. So glad after all the doom and gloom in here that this is happening - really exciting. Why haven't the met office updated this on their website?

Tiny microscopic flakes (and not many of them) in LE3.

In my garden there is no more than 1.5, and I am in Leicester. But I really would like a bit more so I don't have to do the school run just for one day. Is that so bad???

Can anyone explain why on the BBC Weather Site Nottingham is going to get heavy snow on Saturday and Sunday but nothing Monday and Leicester gets nothing until light snow showers on Monday?? There's only 30 miles difference, what's going on??

Hi Andy, I'm gonna say light to moderate at the mo, but I am more towards the city than you, so maybe it is yet to get as heavy. So glad it is snowing here though, after this morning I had all but given up!!

Glad to hear lots of you have a good lot of snow, but here in Leicester, we've been a little unlucky. Please, please someone, tell me that Leicester is due a bit of snow at least some time later????

Well can we start a new LE3 gets no snow club? - I'm just of the Groby Rd nr Glenfield Hospital and I think your snow shield theory is right!!
