  1. Hi guys, just a quick update on the WestonWeather website. After finally establishing the website and setting up the weather station, and the Stevenson Screen, it was time to give the fairly minimalistic website look a make over. So here is the final result. It displays much more weather data on one page, in a nice user friendly interface. Hope you like, feel free to comment. www.westonweather.co.uk

For us in the south and west, it really does show the extreme rainfall we received during January. Of course with much more weather action most likely to take place this coming week, stay tuned to whats going on through our new look WestonWeather website.

  3. And so the Stevensons Screen journey comes to an end this morning, as everything is now completed, and its standing proud on its perch in the garden. Like i have said before, anyone can buy a screen, but you get an enormous amount of satisfaction knowing that you (i) built that. Every morning now when i look out side and see it, i think to myself . .. i made that! For the grand total of about £60, I have managed to build this with very little effort. It looks the part, and so far does its job well. Here is the latest, and final installment of the DIY Stevensons Screen journey. Thanks for following, please feel free to comment.

  5. An update to our stevenson screen journey. We are almost there now. The final bits and pieces are coming together. Today the solar panel for the inside fan was fitted and it was sprayed white for the extra protection from the sun and elements. This little box has really come a long way in its journey. Anyone could buy a stevenson screen, but its been great fun to build one and the satisfactions seeing it come together is great. . . . . Check out its latest update here . . . http://www.westonweather.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18

  6. So a friend and my self decided that buying a stevensons screen was rather pricey, so we decided to build our own. Here is an update to how we are getting on. All of the parts we needed have now.

  10. I'm Really not so sure about tonight.

    temp currently 4.0c Humidity 73% DP -0.5

we cant even really get freezing rain from this as the ground isnt any longer below freezing! i must admit, i didnt expect temps to rise so much today, especially considering the cloud cover. . . odd . . . any ways, unless temps take a dramatic tumble, i cant see anything materializing except rain. . . . shame really as we dont have much time left for snow in this area . . though March can produce some quick cold blast and snow, it only lasts a day or so!

    Let the Nowcasting Commence!

  11. Bowchicka wowow

I'm liking, just no this will change though. though i must say, after what i thought was going to be a non event, im starting to think it could actually turn out to something, i thought temps maybe to high, but it seems as if we will drag in some cold air just before the arrival of the band of precip. as the front moves in east, i think it will stall and retract west as the east pushes in again. but we will see, this is a VERY complex set up, and forecasting it from now is almost impossible, things are changing as we speak. i think it wont be till tuesday afternoon that we will no whats going to really happen. we live in hope though . . . well some of us do haaa

  12. I know Ian and others talked about light ppn not showing on the radar - but I'm really not sure where all this ppn (albeit light) is supposed to come from for tonight into tomorrow.

Nothing on Met office radar apart from very light in south east. Nothing, even on Meteox European radar. Thought ppn was moving in from Europe?

Very light showers on raintoday - in south east and a few edging through gloucester - all looking very dry!

Hold you horses everyone, its will come dont worry, i feel maybe its slightly behind time wise, think its pushing up through france as we speak, i would say hitting us anytime from around 7ish, but id say it was more of an afternoon thing to be honest. but its only going to be light, doubt it will do/effect anything, would like to wake up surprised though :)

  13. Snow - The country grinds to a halt and the trains have problems... Shops run out of milk

Too Hot - Roads start to "melt" (and the trains have problems)... Not enough water (hose-pipe bans etc.)

Rain - Everywhere floods due to poor (or poorly maintained) flood defence schemes (and the trains have problems)... Too much water (but still a hose-pipe ban the following Summer)

Too Cold - Major hoo-haa on the roads (and the trains have problems)... Water mains burst!

Britain should be placed in a weatherless vacuum with a constant temperature of +16.5°c :p

id prefer a constant temp of around 25c, or maybe -20 haha
